Chapter 1

Sophia POV

I just woke up and they're already experimenting on me. Why can I never have a day off of experiments?

I can hear Peter in the other room, he's trying to sass his way out of the experiments again. We've stopped screaming during the sessions six years ago. The pain doesn't faze me anymore. No pain compares to the pain you feel of growing up without your parents.

I've slowly given up hope that they'll find us. I mean, we've been here for twelve years. If they weren't able to find us in those twelve years, they won't be able to find us now.

All of a sudden I felt something getting stabbed into my leg and abdomen. A couple minutes later I felt drowsy and I passed out. When I woke up I had no idea what happened.

I looked around and saw that I was back in Peter's and my cell. When I saw that Peter was here too I stood up. Or I tried to at least. When I tried to stand up all I could feel was a stabbing pain in my leg. I looked down and saw a knife.

"Hey Petey, how did I get here? Last thing I remember I was in one of the labs." I asked my twin.

"I don't know," Peter confessed, "I woke up a couple minutes before you and I still don't know how I got here."

"Strange.." I looked through the window and saw Bucky in the cell across from us, I waved and he gave me a warm smile. You see Bucky and I have a special bond. I am able to retrieve his memories after a memory wipe and I can calm him down when he's in the Winter Soldier mode, and in turn he can calm me down when the sessions get too much or when I miss my parents too much.

Peter and I were currently in our cell him sleeping in his hammock and me reading on my bed. That was until we heard footsteps and voices on the other side of the door. The door opened and we saw the doctors, it was time for another session.

We walked to the lab and all of a sudden we got separated. This had never happened before, normally we are in two different rooms in the same lab. This time Peter was taken to a completely different lab.

"WHERE ARE YOU TAKING HIM?" I screamed and we tried to grab each other's hand but it was no use.

"LET ME GO" Pete yelled at the guard who was holding him back.

This session was the worst in all the twelve years we had been here. It was the first time in six years that I screamed during the experiments. It didn't feel right, not having Peter near me.

I then heard more footsteps, but these were heavier and more metallic. All the hope of my parents saving me that I had lost came back when I heard familiar thrusters. It was the thrusters of the one and only Iron Man, my dad.

Someone kicked the door in and I saw none other than Captain America, my uncle Rhodey and my parents.

"Leave the girl alone" I heard Cap say, Dad shot something out of his armour and all the doctors were on the ground. Unconscious.

I heard someone walk towards me and I closed my eyes, breathing heavily.

"Hey hey hey, calm down. Honey, we're the good guys." I heard mum say and I immediately felt safe. They opened the restraints and helped me sit up.

I opened my eyes and I heard my parents gasp. "S- Sophia?" Dad stuttered and I gave him a weak smile.

"D- Dad? Mum? I- Is it really you?" I looked at him and mum and I couldn't help but notice the tears in their eyes. They engulfed me in a big hug.

"Yeah honey, it's us" Mum said while kissing the side of my head.

"Soph, baby, where's Pete?" Dad asked looking me in the eyes.

"I don't know, they separated us. They've never done that before" I say with tears in my eyes and mum wraps her arms around me again. I scan the room and see my uncle Rhodey and Captain America.

"Sophia, is it really you?" Rhodey asks and I stifle a laugh.

"Yeah uncle Rhodey, it's me" He then also engulfs me in a hug.

"I'm sorry, what's going on here?" I hear Cap say.

"We'll explain it when we get back" Mum and Dad say in unison.
