Percy glances down at his feet as he pondered what to do next. Knowing Ananke, although not very well, he knew that she will be deeply upset and angry when she finds out Percy doesn't obey her anymore. They had to do something before she retaliates.
Quick on his toes, Percy walked out of the suffocating cabin. The others followed him alarmed. "Here's what we have to do," He told them. Glancing at each of them he continues, "You all have to leave ASAP and take shelter in Camp Jupiter. Its not exactly the most secure place and definitely doesn't guarantee your safety but at the moment, Ananke isn't focused on that camp yet. So it's our safest bet."
Nico steps closer to him, "What? Are you coming too?" Percy gives him a look and avoids meeting his eyes. "See? You aren't, are you? You're just trying to save us and put yourself in more danger." Percy sighs and retorts, "Just do me a favor and leave. All of you. I mean it."
Frank stepped up and glares at him, "You aren't alone anymore. We're staying whether you like it or not, and we're helping you." Quiet, Percy stared at him. His breath caught in his throat, he realized his situation and the people he's here with. He dragged his stare to look beyond Frank and saw the people he loved the most. They all had concerned faces and were standing together, being fully supportive of him. Percy swallowed the lump in his throat as he was hit with an overwhelming sense of emotions.
Frank's glare softened as he looked at Percy. He lifted an arm and brought it slowly to Percy's shoulder. At his touch, Percy inhaled sharply and met Frank's eyes. He could see the longing in them, as well as happiness. Percy instantly knew that it wasn't only him that has suffered over the years. But his family as well. Taking a deep breath, Percy knew what he had to do. He must protect his family at all costs.
Percy opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by the tight hold Frank had on him. "We fight together... just like old times, yeah?" Still open mouthed, Percy looked at everyone behind Frank and could see the sincerity in their eyes. Percy made his decision then.
Clamping a hand on top of Frank's, Percy smiled at him softly and nodded his head. "Together."
Percy watched as Frank smiled grew bigger and bigger and was suddenly pulled into a bone-crushing hug. Before he knew it, everyone was hugging gleefully. Percy laughed at their excitement and soaked in all the happiness. Once the group hug was over, Percy pointed a finger at them. "I know what we have to and before you all cut me off and say that you should help me more, just listen."
They all stared at him, waiting for him to explain.
Percy rubbed his hands together, "You ALL need to leave." The others started to exclaim but Percy rose a hand to them, "Yes, to protect you but also because I plan to deceive Ananke. I want to trick her into thinking I'm still on her side." He looked at them as they stood perplexed. "I need to prove to her that I'm her puppet. And to do that, I need this camp to be cleared. Hence, why you all have to leave. Good news is that she might believe that I killed you all since my earthquake left this place a mess."
Clarisse spluttered at him, "Uh. How exactly is she going to believe that you massacred an entire camp if there's no evidence of blood or corpses."
Percy shrugged at her, "It's a reach but I'll try to convince her that I'm just that good, ya know?" No one responded and instead he was being given looks of uncertainty. "Look, I know we're going out on a limb here but this is the best we can do. So please."
Annabeth glanced at the others and saw the same emotion on their faces that she was feeling. Sighing, she turns to look at Percy. She trusts him and although this plan is total crap, it is the best they could do.
