The game wore on and now it was only Crypto and Wraith's squad left.

"What should we do about Mirage's decoys?" muttered Octane, not being able to help but remember just how many times he actually got bamboozled.

"My drone can pinpoint the real Mirage." replied Crypto and Octane gaped at him, though Crypto couldn't see that. "Seriously? Even Bloodhound can't do that." he muttered.

(Note, this is before Bloodhound got buffed and stuff)

"Mhm. But that Wraith. How should we deal with her?" muttered Crypto and at this, even Octane was silent.

"Well..if we can stop her from moving it'll be easier. She's fast, not faster than me, but she's also small so it makes her harder to target. If we can hit her with some grenades it'll slow her down. Maybe even knock her." he said and Crypto looked at him.

"You actually sound like you thought that through." he said and Octane stiffened up, offended. "I get you don't like me, but it's your own fault. You provoked me, not the other way around." said the daredevil and rolled his eyes when Crypto proceeded to ignore that.

"I don't see what she sees in you." he muttered and they both ran forward as the ring began to close.

Octane scowled and was almost tempted to let Wraith win just to get into a fight with the guy for no reason.

"Enemy spotted." said Mirage suddenly and Wraith finished the portal, hopping out and aiming her Kraber at Octane who was speeding down the hill.

Just as she was about to make the shot, Crypto threw an arc star, striking her.

"Shit." and she was down. Mirage attempted to heal her, using his decoys as cover but was shot by Crypto.

"Must, go, faster!" grinned Octane, throwing out his jump pad and sliding onto it. He spun around once, then headshotted Mirage. As he landed, the game didn't end.

"Oh, someone's got a gold knockdown." he grinned and Wraith left the game before he could finish her.

You are the Apex Champion.

He reappeared in the drop ship alongside Crypto and the hacker looked at him.

"Well...not bad." he uttered reluctantly and Octavio smirked. "I know right?" he grinned and grunted when he was tackled into a hug from behind. He laughed and turned in Natalie's arms, holding her close.

"That was awesome." she beamed and he chuckled. "Merci, princesa." he said and she giggled. "You sound weird speaking French."

"Uh..so..where do you wanna go?" asked Elliot, not at all upset about their loss and Renée was silent a moment. "Somewhere quiet, if you don't mind." she said and he smiled gently, taking her hand. "I know just the place."
