Chapter 8

Maya's POV

I think about hanging out with lucas when I went back home.

~~flash Backs~~

Me and lucas meet outside of school when the bell rings.

"Ready to go?" He asked once he saw me.

"Yeah, let's go." I respond

We walk to Starbucks, and I looked down. I saw his hand comin towards mine, but then stops and goes back in Lucas' pocket. That means that he was about to hold my hand. I smiled. I looked up and saw him smiling at me.

We finally got to Starbucks and we sat down.

"So Maya, hart. Tell me about yourself," he said.

"Ok, well um, I hate homework, I love to draw, and my favorite store is demolition."

Me and lucas talked for hours. It didn't feel like hours, though. I learned that he was from Texas and he likes visiting his friends there every weekend.

It was about time for me to go back home, so he walked me home. On the way to my house, he told me about a horse in Texas that was falling, meaning abo to give birth.

"Wow!" I said when he finished talking. "That's amazing!" I continued.

We finally reached my house. I didn't want this night to end. We were saying our goodbyes, but then he grabbed my hands. I looked at his eyes that sparkle. He looked at my eyes.

"The real reason why I asked if you wanted to hang out with me is because... I need your advice." He said.

"Sure. What's on your mind?" I ask.

"I like this one girl. She has the best, long hair, the best eyes, she seems like she is always happy, she is funny, and is really fun to hang out with. Do you think I should ask her to be my girlfriend?"

I just stood there, with a little smile planted on my face.

'Long hair. I have long hair. I think I have pretty cool ocean blue eyes. I always try to seem happy. I think I am kind of funny. And Lucas seemed like he was having a good time with me, so I am fun to hang out with! He might be talking bout me!'

"Maya?" He asked. I zoned out from my thoughts.

"Yeah! You should totally ask her to be your girlfriend!" I say.

"You think so?" He asks

"Definitely!" I say.

"Ok, I'll ask her tomorrow. I need to find out what I'm going to say tonight. Bye Maya! Thank you so much!"

Lucas starts to leave my driveway. He stops and waves to me.

"See you tomorrow!!" He shouts

"Bye!!" I shout back to him.

~~flashback over~~

I sit on my couch with a huge smile. Lucas is going to ask me out tomorrow. I'm facing the truth. I like lucas!!

"I like lucas!" I shout in my room. I felt so good to say that. I'm so happy!! I don't know how to express my feelings about lucas, but let's just say, I never felt this way about any other boy before.
