today is the day! i'm flying to L.A to meet kio. he and i have been talking for about six months. but seeing as i'm in Florida and he's in L.A, facetime just isn't cutting it anymore. i need to see him, feel him, hold him. i can't lie and tell you that i haven't fallen head over heels for a guy who lives across the country, because i have.

"mom! are you ready to go yet?!" i had been pacing since five o'clock this morning and everything had been packed for two days already. i was both incredibly excited and terrified all at once. "okay, okay crazy! i'm on my way out the door!" i freaked out and hopped out the front door and into the car. "you are way too excited to meet this boy," she chuckled at me.

"just take me to the airport, please!" i couldn't wipe the smile off my face or stop my leg from shaking. "okay we're on our way! kio will still be there when we get there," she sniggered at me. she hasn't stopped teasing me since the first time i talked to kio.

we finally pulled up outside the airport and i grabbed my suitcase and my backpack, trying to pace my walking so i don't look insane to strangers passing by. my mom held my shaking hand and told me that she was this excited for her first date with my dad.

"just promise me that you'll be smart and safe? and that he will look after you?" i hugged her tightly as we made it to security. "i promise mom. i know how to handle myself, and kio would never let anything happen to me," she didn't want to let go, but my flight was leaving in less than an hour. "i love you," i pulled back and waved to her as i walked through the security barrier, even though i knew she would watch me until i was out of her sight range.

i made it to my gate and took a seat, anxiously awaiting the sweet relief of getting on my plane. my phone beeped and i recognized kio's custom text tone.

i blushed at his nickname for me before replying excitedly.

at the gate, waiting anxiously. i can't wait to see you <3

just as i clicked send, my flight was called. i flew off of my feet and made it right to the front of the line. the woman scanned my boarding pass and i basically skipped down the jetway, getting to my seat efficiently. my phone dinged again.

i held my phone to my heart. i am meeting the boy of my dreams in just five short hours, and i have never felt stronger desire for something in my life.

"excuse me, miss. the flight has landed," the flight attendant shook me awake, causing an exhausted smile to spread across my face. "thank you ma'am," i stood quickly, grabbing my two bags and exiting the plane. my heart was racing a million miles a minute while i basically ran through the airport. i made it to the escalator that led down to the pick-up area, not being able to breathe.

i spotted a brunette boy, holding a sign with my name on it, surrounded by balloons. i could barely speak.

"KIO!" he spotted me and that shining smile spread over his face. "monkey!" he ran toward me and i lost all control. i ran at him and he picked me up off of my feet swiftly. when i tell you i have never clung to someone so tightly, i mean it. i took in that scent that i had been waiting so long to smell and i swear it was intoxicating.

he put me down and grabbed my face in his hands, touching his forehead to mine. "there is no way you're here right now," he was breathing heavy, holding onto me so tight. "i'm here. i mean i'm really here. i'm here, in your arms right now," i closed my eyes, not being able to comprehend that this was all real. he pulled back abruptly and i felt cold. i opened my eyes and he was holding a stuffed monkey that was wearing the same outfit as him.

"a monkey for my monkey," i felt tears rush to my eyes unexpectedly. "oh monkey don't cry," kio handed me the monkey and hugged me tightly. "i love him so much. thank you so much," he buried his lips into my cheek and i felt my whole body shake. "alright, come on. let's go," he grabbed my hand and my suitcase, pulling me out the door and toward his car.

kio led me through the sway house and up to his room, not even stopping to acknowledge any of the boys. we made it to his room and he put both of my bags aside and looked at me intently. "what are you-" he came at me and grabbed me, picking me up and flopping down onto his bed. he cuddled me close, causing me to giggle.

"i have waited six months to get to do this," he nuzzled his face into my neck and i ran my hands through his soft hair. "me too," i sighed, feeling completely at peace in kio's arms. "i've also waited six months for this," he pulled back, his eyes shifting between my eyes and my lips. before i could say anything he closed the space between our faces and moulded our lips together.

i never ever wanted to pull away, the fireworks too addictive going off in my stomach. he pulled back to catch his breath. "y/n, will you please be my monkey forever and be my girlfriend?" i felt like shrieking in excitement. "i wouldn't just fly all the way out to L.A for someone i didn't want to be with," he rubbed his nose against mine, pulling me as close as he possibly could.

i had never been happier in my entire life and i truly couldn't have ever dreamed of finding someone as amazing as kio.
