"c'mon ant! we need to get to the mall!" my best friend anthony and i are going shopping for outfits for my aunt's wedding. i decided to ask anthony to be my date to the wedding because i can't think of anyone else i'd rather go with. i'm taking him shopping with me so that we can coordinate outfits and because he has better taste in clothes than me.
"okay, okay. i'm ready, let's go," it was a beautiful day out today so anthony rode his bike here. i don't have one so we had to share. "alright, hop up," he climbed on his bike and helped me to sit up on the handlebars. "ready sweet-cheeks?" i loved when he called me that, it always made me laugh.
"let's do this!" he pedalled really fast along the coastline and i put my arms out and cheered. the sun was beaming down on our faces and i was taking it all in. I pulled out my phone and took a video of anthony and i before posting it to my snapchat story.
once we made it to the mall anthony chained his bike up and i pulled him into a random dress shop. "okay fashion designer, help me," i motioned to the dresses and he groaned, beginning to search through them one by one. he pulled a few out that he liked here and there, but he was being really picky.
after he had picked up about ten dresses, he told me it was time for the show before guiding me to the fitting rooms. he shoved me inside one and told me that he would be waiting on the other side. i tried on a few dresses that were definitely too casual and street-wearish for the wedding, and anthony agreed with that. some of them were a little too fancy as well, and one of them was even white, which is obviously a no-no for a wedding.
the last dress was a silky red body-con dress with a v-neck and a slit on the thigh. it hugged my body in a lot of places i was unsure about showing people. there was a rough knock on the door that pulled me away from my reflection.
"you've been in there a while, show me the next dress," i bit my lip, unsure of whether i wanted to show him or not. "ant i don't think i want you to see this one," i almost whispered this, knowing he'd scold me for my low self esteem. "c'mon sweet-cheeks. i wanna see it. i won't judge you," i sighed, knowing he was right. i slowly opened the door and anthony peered in at me.
he looked at me in a way that i had never seen him look at me before, so i assumed he hated it and thought that i looked horrible. "i knew it, i look horrible don't i?" he didn't answer, he just kept staring at me, chewing on his bottom lip in deep thought. "ant? are you okay?" i waved a hand in front of his face and got no response.
"anthony reeves! talk to me!" i snapped in his face and he finally broke from his daze. "y-you look..." he trailed off again. wow, i must look worse than i thought. i dropped my gaze to my feet and began to back into the dressing room. "i told you i looked bad," i couldn't meet his eyes. when your best friend can't even find something nice to say about you, that's how you know it's bad.
i was about to close the door when anthony slid into the dressing room with me. this forced me to lean against the wall, his arm above my head and hand resting on the wall. "what ant? i know the dress is bad," he put his finger against my lips, silencing me. "it is nothing of the sorts. never say that again. this is the dress you're wearing to the wedding," he put his hands on my hips and seemed to be admiring me.
"i don't know anthony... it's really revealing and i think it hugs parts of my body that i would rather not put on display," he brought his mouth close to my ear. "sweet-cheeks, you look stunningly sexy in that dress. i never want you to take it off," i was taken aback by his words. anthony and i have been flirty with each other for as long as i've known him, but it never goes this far and never becomes this physical.
"i don't tell you this enough, but you are the most beautiful girl i know. you're smart, funny, incredibly sexy and you get me," i looked into his eyes and they were so full of love that it made me start to tear up. "awe anthony," i pulled him in for a hug, thinking of what i wanted to say to him.
"anthony, you're so important to me and i don't tell you that as much as you deserve to hear it. you're literally like my other half. you're hilarious, sweet, compassionate, hardworking and... incredibly sexy," i pulled back, biting my bottom lip and looking him in his sparkling eyes. before my brain reacted with my heart, i grabbed the back of his neck and pulled his face down to mine, kissing him passionately.
i had always loved anthony, but today i realized just how deeply.
his hands roamed the sides of my body and i ran my hands through his silky hair, never wanting it to end. but then i remembered that we were in the dressing room of a store, giving me a quick reality check. i pulled back and anthony tried to start kissing my jaw.
"ant, we gotta stop. we're in public," he sighed and pulled back from my neck, his lips were really swollen and red. this caused me to reach out and touch them with my thumb. "your lips are swollen," i giggled lightly. "well, if that's the price i have to pay, bring it on," he kissed me lightly again.
"you're wearing that dress to the wedding. i'm gonna have the best looking date there," without another word, he kissed my lips and exited the dressing room, leaving me utterly lost as to what just happened.
