Elena

Knock knock knock

"You okay baby?" Angelo called to me, continuously knocking on the bathroom door, "let me in."

Between dry heaving and gagging, I replied, "No, but I don't want you watching me puke out my insides."

"Elena Miora open this damn door. I'm not worried about all that. I just want to help you and make sure you straight."

I was currently two weeks away from the six month mark, going strong in the second trimester of my pregnancy. Morning sickness had been kicking my ass the last few days. Extreme nausea, throwing up. I was over it. I don't remember my sister ever having bad spells like this. Maybe carrying two little humans in this belly of mine rather than one was the difference.

The two of them were constantly moving. For some reason, they loved doing it in the middle of the night when I was trying to sleep.

I didn't feel like I was finished, but the smell was making me feel even more sick so I flushed the toilet and finally unlocked the door for him.

He sat down beside me on the floor and gently rubbed my back as I continued hovering over seat. It wasn't long before I felt another sense of queasiness come over me that caused me to throw up again. Gelo grabbed a rubber band off the counter and tied my hair up into a horrendous messy bun, kissed my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me so he could have both hands on my belly.

"Ugh, I swear to God I'm grateful for these twins but if you get me pregnant again. I'm gonna kill you," I grunted in frustration.

It was three in the morning and all I wanted to do was get off this damn floor and go back to bed.

"If you're telling me this now, I can only imagine what you're gonna say when they're ready to come out," he laughed, now resting his head on my shoulder.

"Probably something along the lines of fuck you and I hate you," I found the strength the laugh.

"That's fine. I'm okay with that," he shrugged, "as long as my munchkins get here and you love me even more after."

"Mmhmm. You better have the worlds best push present for me too."

Once the nausea started to pass over, I brushed my teeth and got back in bed while he wiped the toilet down with some disinfectant spray and Clorox wipes. Angelo has been such a trooper. From putting up with my mood swings and catering to my food cravings  to being attentive to my needs and always loving on me no matter what. I appreciated him so much.

We were only able to sleep for a few more hours before we had to be up. Today, we were flying out to Louisville with Emilia and Owen to visit Max for the weekend. Thankfully, we were all packed up the night before so all we had to do was shower, get dressed, have breakfast before heading out.

Angelo cooked up my current early morning cravings: blueberry pancakes, turkey sausage and eggs with chives and cheese. In the kitchen, he was known for his ability to make the best drinks but he was a great cook as well.

I put on a black floor length maxi dress and wedge heels for comfort. My growing belly had me staring at myself in the mirror, thinking about our babies that would be here in four more months. I found myself smiling every time  they would move. It was this weird butterfly sensation that I've fallen in love with. If I could sum up this pregnancy with one word, it would be blessed. Blessed to be safe and healthy through this journey, blessed with two bundles of joy and blessed to raise them in a loving two parent household.

We pulled up at the private airport at the same time Owen and Emilia arrived. Her security handled her luggage as she carried my niece. I had forgotten that they would be traveling with us. Em said Aubrey's really placed an emphasis on security since he's been gone and there was no way her or the baby would be traveling anywhere especially out of state without them.
