"School is honestly a waste now!" I cried out to my mother over the phone. Devin, who had slept over the night before, placed her hand on my inner thigh where my shorts didn't quite reach and squeezed. I smiled down at her. I sat in her lap as we cuddled on the couch. The night before had been uneventful, much to my disappointment. I had convinced Devin to share my bed, but she refused any other advances.
"You still need an education!" My mother insisted. She had called me to share that she heard my song online. "At least finish the semester." She sighed, exasperated. I sighed as well, feeling like there was no winning.
"Fine, I'll think about it." I did love my mom but she was so stubborn when she had her mindset. It was quiet only for a moment.
"Tell Devin I say hello." I looked up to see a large smile forming on Devin's face. I pinched her leg and grinned back.
"I will mom." I laughed and Devin hunched down to kiss my neck softly.
"Tell Liam I say hello, too."
"Sure thing, mom." I laughed and we said our goodbyes. Devin already had her mouth open to speak before I could hang up.
"You told your mom about me?" She smiled and pinched my sides. I laughed at her tickling.
"Of course I did." I scrambled out of her hold to escape. She only smiled and pulled me closer to her.
"We should celebrate." She murmured against my neck.
"Celebrate me telling my mom?" I teased. She looked down at me unamused and began tickling me again.
"You know what I mean." She shouted over my laughter.
"Okay, okay." I gasped for air and leaned further into her. "Let me call off work."
"You don't have to call off. We can go after." She offered, but I shook my head.
"You're more important than work, plus I need a break." She nodded in agreement.
"But," I said, " I do still need to go to school." The clock read just past 8 and I had school at 10. She groaned and helped me steady myself when I stood.
"Go shower, I'll cook." She hummed and stood with me. I turned to enter my bathroom, but she grabbed my hand and spun me back around to her before I could leave. She leaned down and pressed her lips softly against mine. I hummed when her hand moved from the small of my back to my hip, then to rest on my ass. I giggled as her lips moved down my neck, sucking and biting gently.
"Hurry, shower before I decide to join you." She let me go, but not without leaving a sharp slap on my ass.
I turned to go shower, and as promised, breakfast was done when I was. We ate the meal and talked. When she finished, she went to throw on her jeans and one of my shirts. I couldn't get enough of her in my clothing. It was a huge contrast from her large black clothing. She wore one of my band t-shirts with a low v neck and colorful designs on its front.
"Ready?" She reached for my hand. I placed mine in hers and we left.
She delivered me to the doors of my building and let go of my hand. I gave her a small wave and entered the building.
Liam wasn't there, which I was both thankful and nervous about. I missed the comfort of his lighthearted nature, as more people were looking when I walked down the hallway. Some pointed and whispered to their friends, but I didn't want to listen to Liam talk about this sudden increase in fame. I didn't love it as much as he did, and his excitement got on my nerves.
I sat through my class, all the while texting Devin about our 'celebration'. She had the whole thing planned and refused to share anything with me. It was frustrating but in a playful way. Both of my classes dragged on for what felt like years. I watched the clock tick by, which also made the time seem slower. Finally, we were dismissed and I ran from the building, trying to escape the looks I knew I would receive. I picked up my phone and dialed Yossef's number.
