I was confused at first on where I was, all I could remember was being at the cabin. When I woke up hearing the heart monitor beeping and the view of Alex's face peering over me.
Startled," Whe-when did you get here?"
"I haven't left," He smiled," Been here all night with you."
I gave a faint smile. I looked around the room, ending up with my arms. My arms were all wrapped up, but just enough so my IV could go in.
Alex noticed what I was looking at," You're really lucky to be alive Bandit, how could you do such a thing?"
I was tempted to tell him about the phone call, but what if he didn't believe me.
"I-I don't know....I just don't."
"Come on Bandit, tell me. I know there has to be something."
"When I was at the cabin I got a call."
"Okay?"
"It was a private caller and the person said they're always watching me....everything move I make."
Alex got up off the bed and paced back and forth mumbling words to himself,"Clarissa."
"What did you say?"
"Uh um nothing, nothing."
"Okay then, where are my grandparents?"
"Down at the food court, they left a bit ago."
"Alex?"
"Yes?"
"Why did you even come to me?"
"Because.....because I love you dammit!"
I froze up.
"I'm-I'm sorry, I just don't know why you'd do such a thing. Forget about those stupid losers, giving up your life is not worth it. Your life is so precious whether you realize it or not. Giving it up just means that they won, they can't keep doing this!"
"It makes me feel good."
"What the hell? have you gone insane? How can losing tons of blood make you feel good.".
"It draws out the emotional pain," I admited.
"Okay, okay then. Bandit I gotta go, not sure when I'll be here again," He said storming out of my room.
Starting to cry,"No Alex, don't leave me I'm sorry."
"I need to go work on something. Bye."
Ugh how could I be so stupid, now he'll probably never talk to me again. Honestly he was the only thing keeping me going. Without him here, it felt like everything just froze but only an hour has passed.
"Knock knock, can I come in?"
"Sure."
She sat on the edge of the bed," How ya feeling girly?"
"Not good."
"People are talking about you in school," Sage said with shyness.
"Of course, why am I not surprised."
"They think you went into a mental hospital."
I shooked my head.
"Do you know Alex?" I asked.
"Which one, there's a lot of Alexs' at school."
"Colemen."
"The Alex Colemen?"
"Yes."
"Oh my god Bandit, he's like a major hottie!"
"Haha tell me about it. We've been friends for a while and well he was just here."
"WHAT! and I missed him. Gosh darn it."
"Calm down Sage haha it's okay. I'm sure you'll see him again."
"No this is like a huge nervous break down," She said faking taking her pulse," You need to bring el senior hot stuff back! Like now!"
"I don't know if that's gonna work."
"Ummmm why?"
"He kind of got mad at me, cause of the whole reason I'm in here," I said showing my arms.
"Oh I'm sorry Bandit." She told,"I'm sure he'll come back sooner or later."
"Maybe."
"Well he umm better or I'll just drop over."
"Haha you're something else Sage."
"Indeed, so how long are ya in here for?"
"Have no clue to be honest."
"Oh, well I hope it's soon cause I'm lonely at school without ya."
We spent a couple hours talking and Sage got to meet my grandparents. They were pleased that I've had finally met a decent friend. Now that I think about it, those words that Alex was mumbling, I sware I heard Clarissa. Could she be the one calling me?
