*Fannia Odair's P.O.V.*

I don't think there's going to be much of a career alliance this year.  The only people, well...brutal enough are Arienne and Alder, maybe Thor.  Ellie and Ethan don't really look like the killing type.  And I know Tristan is such a goofball, he'd probably blow them all up.

"Welcome, tributes, to the train!  Each District has their own hallway, and we all meet in different rooms for entertainment purposes and for dining.  Any questions?" the Capitol attendant says, an avox by her side.  Nobody says anything.  The attendant shrugs and says, "Dinner will be served at five." and leaves us to our own devices.  We all stand rather awkwardly, since, y'know, we'll be killing each other pretty soon.

"Uh....yeah," I say, clearing my thoat.  Ellie Scott, the girl from 2, cracks a grin at me.  Maybe I'll team up with her.

"Yeah," Arienne smirks.  "Why don't we form some alliances?  Get the blood going."  Man, she's brutal.  I shrug and see Alder, the cocky guy from 7, Thor, and Arienne talking about something.  The girl from 5 walks up to me and holds out her hand.

"I'm Alexandria, but you can call me Al," she says, quite friendly.  I smile.

"Fannia Odair," I reply.  Al is really pretty; she has long, dark brown hair and big brown eyes.  Ellie Scott is right behind her.

"I think we should team up," Ellie says in her quiet voice.  Ellie has bright blue eyes and long, gold-colored hair.  "You, Me, Al, Ethan, and Tristan?  We can be the Non-Career Pack," she giggles.

"Okay, sure," I giggle back.  I invite Al and Ellie to go find something to do with me.  We wander around for a bit, talking until we find something amazing to do:  a room with rockwalls, obstacle courses, and a fruity drink bar.

"Jackpot!" Al screams.  We run towards the rockwall and start to climb on it.

A noise of some sort is made to let us know it's suppertime.  We all crowd into the dining cart, chatting.  I've found a friend in Nianna Vance fron District 7.  She's quiet (mostly) and reminds me of my younger brother.  She's got great battle stragigies and has a really good chance in these games.

"Good, my stomach's growling," Nianna says, rubbing her stomach.  For a thirteen-year-old, she's really...mature.

"Mine, too," I agree.  We talk about our home lives and I find out she doesn't really have one.  I feel sorry for her and immediately regret feeling sorry for myself when I have Watt.  We reach the dining cart, and an odd feast is set out, made up of unfamiliar foods.  I see the hunger in Nianna's eyes and wonder if she's ever gotten a proper meal in her life.  We all sit down and begin to eat, and I observe my opponents.   Tristan is a goof, Joey looks like a real pushover, Rylie is pretty strong-looking, and the other Riley is quite blonde. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

*Belle Li's P.O.V.*

Clay and I are eating in a small corner by ourselves.  We talk about home, mostly.  We don't want to forget who we are and die like some crazy serial killer.  Don't most people do that, anyway?

"Yeah, I live with my grandparents.  I never really knew my mom and dad, so it doesn't really bother me.  I love them all the same," Clay says, shrugging and slurping a bit of his thick potato soup.  I stare down at my plate of rosemary chicken.  I'm jealous of him.  He has someone to love him, I don't.  And part of me hates him for that.  And part of me can't help but love him like my own brother.

"I don't really remember my parents, either.  A fuzzy memory here or there," I admit.  Clay looks at me for a minute, then looks ashamed.  "What?"

"I was wondering if the rumors are true," he mumbles.

"What rumors?" I ask, curious.

"The ones about you having secret peacekeeper training."  How did he know?

"That?  Oh, yeah, it's true," I reply, uninterseted.  I was trained with my friend who was going to be executed but was offered to be locked away and trained for a long time to be a victor instead of being executed.  It helped alot and I might stand a chance.

"Woah," Clay says, looking at me with awe.  I shrug nonchalantly.

"I have a better chance of survivng," I state, and Clay nods in agreement.

*Cameron Maynor's P.O.V.*

I wonder who I'll team up with.  I was hoping to team up wiht Al, since we already know each other, but she seems to be off with Fannia and Ellie.  I think they also said Tristan and Ethan were with them, too.

"Maynor!  C'mere!" I hear the guy from 7 yell (Alder?).  I walk over and lean down to hear what they're talking about.

"We were thinking about asking you to join us," Arienne, the pretty yet brutal girl from 1.  I'm a little shocked, I mean, I have a good build and all but I'd never dream of being with the Careers.  I accept excitedly and sit next to Thor while we plan what we're going to do and what arena we might be in.

"I'm hoping for the forest.  It's got some great suprises," Thor pipes.  We all agree.

"Personally, I hope I get to kill Al.  She gets on my nerves," Arienne growls.  "Never mind, I call her."

"Someone jealous of the pretty Al?" Alder smirks.  Arienne growls and he backs off.

"Arienne, calm down.  We gotta stay together," Thor says nervously.  Funny, he doesn't really act like a Career.

"Whatever," Arienne says under her breath, shooting glares in Al's direction.
