-Legends ... Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts of a forgotten past.
The human, born from dust, was strong, wise and resourceful. But he was born into a unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness, creatures of destruction, the creatures of Grimm set their sights on Man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void. However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named "Dust".
Nature's wraith in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brillant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone ... darkness will return. So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called free world, but take heed: There will be no victory in strength.
-But perhaps victory is in simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul.
(Bar "The Seventh Heaven", Night's POV)
I was sitting at the counter of the bar, with the owner, Leafa, in front of me. I knew the bar well because I had worked here before I was fired. Leafa put a Strawberry Sunrise right in front of me before leaning on the counter, staring at me.
"What?" I asked.
"You've changed a lot in two years." She answered me, admiringly.
"Thank you." I replied before taking a sip.
"I didn't ask you: Who is hosting you?" She asks me. I used to live in a slum, but when I came back from the academy in Pharos, some jerks burned down my place.
"I live under the protection of the Headmaster of Beacon, they have loaned me an apartment until I enter the academy." I replied.
"They're pretty generous, I think. You're lucky they gave you a second chance, Night." She says to me.
"I could either integrate Beacon, getting the chance to confront the scumbag who took my sister from me, or I could go to jail. The choice was quickly made." I told her before taking another sip. Leafa started to sigh.
"Is that the only interest you have in becoming a Huntsman? What about protecting the citizens? What about piling up the corpses of Grimms?" She asks me annoyed
"I'll take care of it. It'll be my job, right?" I asked her.
"Yeah." She sighs. I check the time on my scroll before I finish my drink.
"That's not all, but I have to go." I said to her as I grabbed Shotgunblade and paid for my drink.
"Thank you, rest well, Night." She tells me. I leave the bar before I get pushed around by a shady guy accompanied by a couple of guys in black.
"Look where you're going!" He said to me before leaving. This guy was really shady. I head to the park and lay down on a bench to watch the stars. The sky was clear tonight. There was a nice cool breeze that went with it. I could have stayed here all night if I could, but I couldn't. I had just received a message on my scroll: It was Professor Goodwitch.
Professor Goodwitch:
You're late, you better get home.Me:
Yes, professorIt was advantageous to live under Beacon's protection, but still, there were some inconveniences, I had a curfew, which forced me to come home every night at 8:00 pm. I straighten up and get up from the bench, when I hear something. As I looked up to the sky, I saw a ship leaving for the city, which was strange because it never happened. I decided to change my plan and follow the ship.
