Chapter 8: Night's Past

(Narrator's POV)

"Resare, what's the matter with you !?" Night asks her.

"IN YOUR OPINION, DUMBASS !? YOU REALLY THINK I'M GONNA WORK WITH HUMANS !?" Resare yells at him.

After the groups formed, Resare went wild when she learned that she was going to have to team up with Night and Krystal. She had started to leave when Night grabbed her, and now she's going after the young man.

"Are you kidding me? If you don't like humans, why don't you go to Kuo Kuana?" Night growls.

"Does my presence disturb you, you fucking racist?" Resare yells at him. Night felt the anger rise in him.

"Racist? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME !?" He yells, grabbing Resare by the collar and slamming her against the wall. "YOU SPEND 20 FUCKING MINUTES CALLING ME A "DAMN HUMAN" AND I'M THE RACIST OF THE TEAM!?" He yells again. The faunus remains unmoved. "I SPENT A PART OF MY LIFE IN SHIT AND I FIND OUT IN A SCHOOL TO SUPPORT THE BAD MOOD OF A GODDAMN BITCH! AND IF YOU THINK THAT I WILL BEND AND OBEY YOU, PUT YOUR FINGER IN YOUR EYE "He continues to scream.

"Respect me, damn human-"

"MY NAME IS NIGHT! NOT "DAMN HUMAN", YOU RACIST BITCH!" He continues to scream. Resare violently pushes the young man.

"You think I have something to care about you !? You humans are all the same! You hate us and exploit us for your personal gain, if you don't say we are all members of the White Fang! " She replied angrily.

"But you didn't join them. If according to you, all humans think that all faunus are White Fang, then you are proof that no, you are wrong to think that about us." Night growls. "You're blaming humans by thinking bullshit! Look around you, you'll see that you're not the only one who has suffered! The world does not revolve around Resare Chikara from Vacuo!" Night growls.

"Maybe. But you don't understand what I went through." She answered him coldly before leaving.

"You don't know anything about me!" Night yells at the faunus, who ignores him. "FUCK!" He yells as he hits a wall.

(Night's POV)

What mess did I get myself into? Would it have been worse than jail? I don't know. I'm stuck with this rabid girl for the next four years, and I'm not sure Ozpin would want me to switch teams. What should I do ?

"Well, it looks like the problems are ... worse than I imagined." A voice told me behind me. I turn to see Ozpin there, standing erect, with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Professor Ozpin. Are you sure it was a good idea to put me on the same team as her?" I asked him.

"It's only been a day that you came to Beacon. I think you should let time." He told me.

"It's not a question of time, the problem! I've been able to sympathize with Dragon and Krystal, but it's just... Resare doesn't like humans." I replied. "You knew that, right?" I asked him.

"Indeed." He replied before taking a sip of his coffee. "Hate is something you can't heal if you don't face it." He told me.

"What do you mean ?" I asked in incomprehension.

"In order for Resare not to hate humans anymore, she needs to team up with them, get to know them," he replied.

"I'm afraid the problem is deeper than it seems, professor" I replied before explaining to him. He listened to everything I said, every word, carefully.

"I understand what you want to say." He told me. "If you want to be able to team up properly, open up to her, tell her everything you have to say." He advises me. "You have a similar past, so try to make her understand that you know how she feels." He told me.
