"I still don't see the reason why we're here..." The girl muttered softly to herself, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Rose... I don't know what else to tell you other than the fact that your father has work to do here." The soothing voice of an older woman replied, though the woman did not bother to turn around in her seat to look at the young girl.

Rose huffed and stared out the window of the car, watching the scenery flash by as her own mind raced with a thousand thoughts, questions, and complaints. Everything and everyone they passed looked foreign to the girl, and nothing rubbed against her positively. She missed the view and setting of New Yosaka City, but seeing as how wherever her father's job was he had to bring along the family, Rose figured it was about time to forget about her life in Yosaka.

"Why does dad always have to bring us along wherever his job is? Can't we just stay in New Yosaka while he does whatever he needs to here in San Fransokyo?" Rose asked again, knowing that her persistent questions and stubbornness on the topic would drive her mother mad.

The woman simply sighed and finally turned around in her seat to look at Rose. A firm and serious expression was plastered to her facial features, and it was evident that she was weary from all the traveling as well.

"Because your father never knows how long he has to stay in the cities he's required to visit. What if he has to stay in San Fransokyo for five years while we are stuck in New Yosaka? Wouldn't you miss him terribly? I know I would."

"..." Rose watched in silence, offering no attempt to further interrogate her mother. Though she still had a lot on her mind, she knew it would be best if she left the subject alone and let her mother have some peace of mind as they settled into the new city.

Moving to a new city always took time to adjust, however, and it didn't help that Rose was pulled out of school halfway through the semester.

But this was the life she had to live, and if her mother and father were okay with it, she really had no true power over objecting their decisions.

That didn't mean it still sucked...
