Mattia's pov.

I will admit. i feel like absolute shit for dumping kairi.

I left 3 weeks ago. I blocked kairi on everything, got rid of all the gifts and stuff he's gotten me. anything that reminds me of kairi,, i got rid of it.

My new apartment isn't necessarily in the best area, but it works. I can still go out drinking, and partying..so yeah, it works.

I called alejandro everyday to check up on kai. He would say the same thing every time.

'hes just vibing with us.'

then i would ask, whos 'us' and he would respond with

'robert, hunter and i."

Then he would say bye and i could always hear giggling in the background.

Sure it bothered me, but we weren't together anymore, so i couldn't really let it bother me.

I sat in front of a small glass table, with a rolled up dollar bill in my hand.

The small white line had enticed me, and i was almost too impatient to take it. I lowered the dollar, right above the white line. (ugh it's not cocaine)

I inhaled through my nose, smiling and breathing shakily.

"aye mattia, enjoying your new shit?"

I looked up to see my new roommate, portia. She had long ginger hair with piercing green eyes. Her body was covered in bright tattoos, most of them being exotic animals. oh yeah, and she's gay.

Portia was definitely a character. She was a more laid back but as soon as did drugs or drank, she had no chill at all.

"yeah this shit is so good." I exhaled, "where'd you even get it?"

"a house just outside of the city. It actually pretty chill we should go there one time." she sat next to me, sipping her beer. "oh uh also, i'm having that girl over again."

"tonight?" i groaned.

"well yeah..but to entertain yourself, i booked you a session at that tattoo shop thingy. the people down there are fucking lit." she spoke slowly, giggling between each word.

"are you for real?" excitement laced in my voice.

"yeah, the guy down there has all the designs. he said the squid tattoo is ready. and that he has the colors n shit."

"bet." i stood up, grabbing my phone off the kitchen counter.

"any news about kai?" she asked.

"i was just about to call alejandro." I muttered, putting the phone to my ear.

"hey mattia what's up."

"how's kai?"

"oh he's good, he's out with hunter right now i think."

I shook my head in disbelief. "who's hunter again?"

"our friend, except i think he has a little thing with kai. they've been spending so much time together it's kinda sus." He laughed on the other line, "anyways, ive gotta go, see you later mattia."

I groaned loudly, leaning back into the couch. "he's with hunter again."

"that name sounds so familiar." Portia frowned, "well obviously but i know someone named hunter really well."

"portia, the name hunter is so common."

"yeah but i know someone named hunter, he was at that house i got the angels dust from." She stood as well, going into her room.

"whatever." i muttered.

Hearing that kairi was moving on just fine made me sick to my stomach. It was just supposed to be us. Mattia and Kairi.

but now he's with someone else.

"alright portia, i'm gonna head to the tattoo place now."

"alrighty bye loser!" she shouted from the other room.

I walked into the tattoo shop, seeing the almost edgy vibe in the place. There was tons of pictures of tattoos on the walls, with bright lighting.

"hey mattia, you're finally here. Portia was telling me that'd you would stop by. i'm hunter."

I smiled weakly, "okay."

"i'll be right back, i've got to say goodbye to someone. just wait here." He quickly disappeared. I didn't want to overthink. it's just a coincidence.

"alright, i'm just going to clean the skin, then we can get started." Hunter smiled at me.

He put a wet cloth on my lower side torso, getting ready to shave the minimal hair.

"so how'd you meet portia?" hunter attempted conversation, so the least i could do is answer.

"she was my dealer before i broke up with my ex boyfriend and i told her about what happened and she told me i could stay at her apartment with her for a few weeks." I winced as he brought the razor to my skin.

"that's nice, portia is so chill. but she's always bringing girls over." he chuckled, then wiping down the area. "okay, are you ready?"

"how bad do you think it's going to hurt?"

"with the placement it'll hurt a lot. but we can do the outline today then we can do the fillings later if you want." He lowered the needle, to my skin. "ready?"

"let's just get it over with."

"oh jesus." i looked at the outline of the giant squid that was now on my lower torso.

It started from my v-line on my left side, from the back and all the way to right shoulder.(if that makes sense)

"yeah, it'll be sore for a few days but here's some lotion and cleaning for it." he handed me a bottle, along with a bag.

"thanks hunter, when can i come by again?"

He walked to his front desk, looking at his computer, "i'll be back here tomorrow. around 12. my friend will be here though, is that okay?"

i thought it was weird, but it seemed like he was the person that worked here.

"yeah that's chill. i'll be here around 11:45. is that good?" I stared down at him.

"that works, is there anymore you want to get done? i have another hour till my next appointment." He stood, dusting his hand after typing into the keyboard.

"nah i'm good, thanks again hunter." i waved and walked out of the shop to my car.

I sat in the car, anger filling my body. If he really was saying goodbye to kairi, then something would definitely happen to hunter.
