I woke up the next day feeling refreshed. I smiled still thinking of the kiss. As I grabbed my clothes I suddenly remembered. Shit, I have a meeting in 15 minutes! I quickly slid on my shorts and shirt. I then ran to the bathroom and brushed my hair.
7 minutes.
I slammed down the brush and grabbed some files on the way out of my room.
4 minutes.
I sped up a bit. I made it with 2 minutes to spare.
"Sorry," I slightly smiled. Everyone was there already.
I sat down.
My face heated up as I saw Midas.
"So, the shadow have been too scared to come back, since the last incident," Midas laughed. "But we still don't know where their base is located."
Midas paced from side to side.
"We have a few ideas," Skye said.
"Well I want you all to research and try and find out exactly where they are located." Midas sat down.
Everyone nodded.
"Go, now, research!" He yelled.
I jumped at the sudden change of tone. I got up from my seat and started walking towards my office. Wait I forgot to ask I Midas something!
I walked down the halls. Midas was walking my way.
I waved my hand. "Hey Midas I-
He walked straight past me. What? Did he just do that? Maybe he's busy?
Confused, I walked back toward my room.
— Time skip —
I had been researching for the past few hours. I had emailed Midas many times but he wouldn't reply.
What was up with him? I wondered.
I heard a faint knock at my door.
"Yeah, come in," I said.
"Hey! It's me Skye, come have lunch with us girls!"
I smiled and walked out with her.
"How's work?" She asked.
"Pretty good! But I'm trying to ask Midas something but he keeps ignoring me."
"He probably in a bad mood." Skye smiled.
"I guess," I mouthed.
Skye and I sat down at the table.
"Hello!" I grinned.
Everyone waved.
Why is everyone so quiet? We all sort of sat there, no one spoke a word. I was confused.
