Found and Fixed

Part 14

(LUKES POV)
None of us slept that night. We all stayed up and waited in the parlor. At 8:00 am Miss Marin got a video. The kids were sent to their rooms. The 3 of us remained with Miss Marin and Miss Lane.

The two of them began watching, and. I heard Marley's voice and immediately moved to their side.

"Marley." I breathed. I listened to his wicked voice. I saw her mouth the words 'I love you Luke.'

"I love you too, Mar." I said out loud.

I want to kill him. Then, they cut her wrists. She started to bleed, not enough to kill her, but enough to hurt her.

"Oh no, Marley, no." I know she used to cut. I've seen the scars on her wrists before. I just don't bring It up becuase I don't want to make her sad. The video ended and I couldn't explain the feeling I felt. I noticed something. The room they are in is familiar.

"Miss. Marin, we need to call the police. I know where they are ." I said.

"That's putting everyone, including yourself, in danger." She reasoned.

"I don't care about me, I care about Marley!" I yelled.

"Luke-"

"They are going to kill her, and we don't know how much time is left, okay? You need to call them. If you don't I will."

Miss Marin and Miss Lane talked long and hard that day and ended up with no decision. I need my Marley back. That night I told the boys I was going to get her back. We went to the police station and reported it. They were holding Marley in my old orphanage. It's abandoned and Rachel knew no one would be around there.

Mikey drove us 4 to the police station.

"You need to report a what?" The guy asked us.

"A kid napping." I said.

"Well, shouldn't the child's parents be reporting this."

"She doesn't have parents. We're orphans. Her dad is a drug dealer, and her mom owes him money. He's using his daughter to get what he needs."

"What's this mans name?"

"Rufus Smith." His face turned cold.

"You know where Rufus Smith is?" He almost fell out of his chair.

"Yes. We can tell you where he is. This is he biggest case this station has. He's very well known, and wanted. We know where he is and I can tell you where he is, and show you proof if you can promise me one thing."

"And what is that?"

"This case cannot be aired in any News channel. This will endanger 6 other lives. This needs to stay private."

"If it means catching Rufus, I will do anything." He told us to go home, but I wasn't going home. After they organized the swat team to go after him, we followed close behind and I needed to see them get her. I needed to see her, okay and alive.
