Chapter 22

Pikachu's POV

'It's going to be okay! If we stick together, we will always be alright. Because we are a team. Ash taught me that!' I smiled, Fennekin still wrapped in my arms. I stroked the top of her head. 'We will see them one day' she lifted her head off my shoulder.

'You really think so?' Fennekin perked up a bit.

'Yeah I do' I lied, I knew Ash and Serena were gone forever, I never got to say goodbye because I was too selfish to see that Ash couldn't help it! I bet he hates me... or worse!. A tear escaped my eye. Making Fennekin worry.

'Pikachu?' She said out of worry. She stroked my cheek with her paw.

'It's nothing' I replied quickly before turning away from her. So my back was facing her. I wiped my eyes, I needed to man up!

'Is there something you haven't told me yet?' she assumed as she walked around me to be able to face me. 'You can't hide it forever'

Maybe I could but I think she needs to know... 'I... I should tell you' I began 'To start off with Ash isn't here today... because of me' I admitted, I placed my paws over my face.

Fennekin gasped in shock 'H..How?' she questioned. She stared intensively at me, waiting for the answer.

'I used thunderbolt out of pure rage and fear' I continued, 'I kept using it, The problem started with Me and Ash being stuck in a cage... I hated confined spaces... I hate Pokeball's. So being stuck in a cage, made me feel like the walls were closing in on me. I kept attacking not realising that it was striking Ash. He tried to stop me but I wouldn't listen, I was too scared. But when I finally stopped, he hugged me in close, calming me down. But without warning he threw me off of him, throwing me into the bars of the cage. I was shocked at first but the pain of my back took over... I felt like he hated me. But what was worse of all is when he collapsed... he... he stopped breathing. But his last words were "I love you buddy"... It killed me inside'

Fennekin was left speechless. 'I...I' she stuttered.

'No need...' I said placing my paw on her shoulder. 'But before this event even occurred it was Ash's wedding day... Unfortunately we were all attacked, and Ash's Fiancée Dawn didn't make it' She couldn't believe it. 'After Ash died, we were attacked by Malamar. The one we met before at the radio station with Madame X' I reminded her.

'He wanted to destroy the world' Fennekin answered, I nodded in agreement.

'Well unfortunately Ash's body was beside a cliff face, Malamar's attacks had been either deflected or chopped in half. I used an electroball to finish the match off. The collision sent a wave of power sending Ash's somewhat dead body down the cliff face!'

'Somewhat?'

'You'll find out in a minute' I said, 'I ran over to the edge of the steep cliff and Ash was gone...'

'Did you ever find him?' She questioned, staring at me intensively

'Yeah... I found him dead, I cried myself to sleep beside him, cuddling into his cold soulless body. I woke up by a voice screaming at me to wake up. I opened my eyes to see Ash standing there bu-' I was cut off.

'It wasn't really him' she finished for me.

'Ho...How did you know?'

'I've seen Serena walking around in these forests, I hid from her... I couldn't let her see me like this' She confided in me.

'Ash and Serena just left...' My heart began to race, it felt like it was about to explode out of my chest. The pain stuck my chest as my heart began to race faster and faster. My breathing became heavy and radical.
