A/N: I don't really know the timeline of the Avengers, so this probably won't line up with the movie timeline.

Leo's POV:

I was watching TV the other day and there was a guy named Tony Stark being interviewed. I wasn't really listening to what he was saying, I was more concentrated on the suit he was wearing. Now usually that's more of an Aphrodite thing, but his suit was awesome. It looked like it was made out metal and had this cool glowing orb in the middle.  I thought to myself, I want to learn how that works, and maybe I can make it better. So I emailed him on a monster proof phone that I invented. Not to brag or anything, but that invention was genius. Anyway, he said that I could come to Stark Towers, wherever that is, and he would teach me about how his suit works. I don't think he knows I'm 16, but that shouldn't matter.

Now here I am outside Stark Towers about to go in. When I go up to the front desk, the receptionist seems to dismiss me so I'm the one who starts the conversation. "Miss I'm here to see Mr. Tony Stark," I say. She looks bored and says "You can wait with the other wannabes." "No Ma'ma, see, I have an appointment." When I say this she looks down at her book. "Name please." She asks "Leo McShizzel, Nah, just kidding, it's Leo Valdez." I tried to make her laugh, or at least smile but that stone-cold look never leaves her face. "Go up to the main office on the 15th floor."

I didn't feel like talking to her anymore so I went in the elevator and pushed button 15.

When I got to the floor I was impressed. It looked too modern and advanced. I wasn't sure how I was going to avoid attracting monsters with all this tech around, but it was worth the risk.

I walked into the main hallway and came to a stop at another desk. There was a blonde lady who looked about 30 sitting there, her name tag read "Mrs. Potts"

I was a little lost so I thought I would ask her where in Hades I was supposed to be going. "Could you tell me where I could find Mr. Stark?" "Just go down this hall," She says while motioning behind her. "and take the second right." "Thanks," I say and followed her directions.

The office had big glass doors that I could sense were motion censored. Inside a man, about 30 was sitting at a desk towering above a big stack of papers.

I walked in and he looked up. "Hello," I say. I wasn't exactly sure how to greet him. I was almost 100% sure he noticed me fidgeting with bolts and nuts in my hands.

"Who are you?" he asked. "Leo Valdez, sir" I answered, "Oh, yes, of course, I just wasn't expecting you to be so young." He stood up as I walked over to him. We shook hands and he said to just call him Tony. He sat back down at his desk and I sat across from him. I could tell he thought that I wouldn't be very interested in learning about his suit because I was so young.

"I'm very excited to learn how your suit works." I started. "I saw you wearing it in an interview and I just had to contact you." "I'm very impressed that someone so young would take an interest." He said. "I invent things of my own too, I recently built a new model of cell phones for my friends and me." I shared. "Can I see it?" He asked. I didn't know if I should show it to him, the phone did look a little weird and I didn't think he would be very impressed, but I dug the phone out of my pocket and handed it to him. He inspected it thoughtfully. "This is very impressive. Why did you create it? Why not just by a normal phone?" How do I answer without telling him that real phones attract monsters? "My friends and I aren't allowed to have real phones, so I invented my own. " I answered. He seemed like he wanted to question what teenager wouldn't be allowed a phone, but he decided not to ask. "Well, let's go take a look at my suit."

I sprang out of my seat so fast and followed him to the door.

He led me back to the elevator, waving at Mrs. Potts as we went by.

We stepped into the elevator and he pushed the basement button. If I hadn't already been through a war I would've been a bit concerned if a man I barely knew took me to a big basement.

When the elevator doors opened I saw a massive work station. I started taking mental notes for things to add to Bunker 9.

"This is my work station." I was gone before he could even get the words out. I was running around looking at all the different things on the workbenches figuring out how to put pieces together. I picked up one piece and it talked. "What does this do?" I asked. Tony made his way over to me, surprisingly he didn't seem very annoyed. If I went around my dad's workshop like that then he probably would've blasted me back to camp.

"That's JARVIS, I'm trying to figure out how to put him in that suit." He says while pointing to an iron suit on a stand that I hadn't noticed before. "What's the problem with putting him in there?" I ask. Then, he tells me in detail about his problems with the suit. While he's talking I try to come up with solutions, but I need to know more about the suit.

Once he's down talking about what's wrong with the suit, I ask him more questions about the suit. I learned a lot about it.

We sat down at a workbench and worked on the suit together. I eventually tried something that Tony said he had never even thought of and all of a sudden JARVIS's voice came out of the helmet. Tony and I started to get really excited. We high-fived and Tony grabbed a cable and plugged it into the helmet. He plugged the other end into the neck area of the suit. I assumed he was connecting the software to the rest of the suit. He got in it and tested it out. I was shocked when it worked.

After testing the suit Tony took me out to lunch. I've been eating at camp for the past month so lunch in the city was nice. Don't get me wrong, I love camp, but it's nice to get out.

While we were eating Tony asked me about my life and we just talked casually, then the subject moved on to family. I wasn't really talking at first, then he told me how his parents had died when he was young, and I started talking. It was nice to have someone to relate to. I told him that my mother died in a fire at her workshop and how I'd been in and out of the foster system.

From that day on we became friends. We would go to his workshop and work for hours on end. Whenever I could get out of camp I'd go to Tony's workshop. I love working with my siblings and in the forge, but Tony's workshop was so cool.

Whenever Tony was working on something cool he would always let me know and we would work on it together. He eventually made me the godfather of his daughter, Morgan.

A/N: I hoped you liked this. I saw a small headcanon of this on Instagram and I thought it was so cool. I will try to update soon. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
