It was the day that Jake came back to our small school. A whole school assembly took place for his welcoming back to the school. I know he was a slight celebrity and everything, but this was taking it a bit over board.
As he walked into assembly all eyes were on him. The girls couldn't take their eyes off of him, following his movement and they were patting their seats next to them indicating Jake sitting there. They were being desperate. Extremely desperate. And no before you make any assumptions I am not jealous of the guy.
I'm sure he has everything he wants why would he ever want to be friends with me again. I thing that's what hurt the most, knowing I was not good enough to even talk to him anymore.
My heart started to beat really fast, considering I hadn't seen him since I was twelve and now I am seventeen. It all had happened so fast, him leaving to have a completely different life and then returning. Why we he do that though he had everything? Any way I had changed a bit, and so had he.
He was tall six foot two, although only two inches taller than me. Most people considered him extremely tall. Really I can't believe this is the same guy I knew. Although he still gave off a kind and caring aura. Stupid Jake, he's got me using words like that. And to compliment him. He doesn't even deserve it.
When I was younger Jake was a lot smaller than me and now - for once - he was taller than me. He looked a lot older than I remembered. He had Light brown hair almost blonde that was messy and cool. He had green eyes that looked the same colour as grass - nice similar there Diana - and he wore baggy jeans and a navy blue jumper.
As he perched himself next to a guy that he obviously knew as he smiled at him, they whispered to one another for a while throughout the assembly. He was laughing and enjoying himself whilst I starred at him in envy, why had our lives changed in such differ met directions?
Everyone's eyes were upon the both of them. Seriously they were both human beings! Then they both turned around glancing at me when Jake winked. Jake winked. At me. Why? Okay he had some nerves.
I could tell I was showing a expression of confusion as they both laughed. Rather loudly. So embarrassing.
Before I knew it pretty much all of the school were staring at me at gasping. Whilst I quickly looked at the floor trying so hard not to notice. Nora just giggled at this. I must have went completely red. Urgh Jake.
After the torture that was assembly had passed as I walked through the hallway their was a lot of gossip including one word in particular 'Jake'. Great I had been here way longer than he had and he was already way more popular than me. Okay now I am acting horrible. Oh well.
I was heading to my English class whilst discussing with Nora about clothing design. She became so boring when she started talking about this stuff to me. Then a change of subject occurred from Nora.
"So .. How are you going to speak to Jake?" I didn't know why she was so fascinated by me knowing Jake.
"I won't" I abruptly spoke. Nora did not speak again of it as we were outside the classroom she walked a head of me. I had just been mean to my total best friend in the whole world for no reason, wow I am horrible. I dropped my pen on the floor out of utter clumsiness which pretty much describes me, so I picked it up and followed her into the room.
However I went into someone who then fell on top of me. "Ouch" was the only words that could escape my mouth. When I opened my eyes I was astonished by who I saw.
"What your not happy to see me?" Jake said whilst he gave me a cocky smile.
