Unsteady [Isaac Lahey x OC]

Chapter 11

A large gasp escapes throughout the room.

Carter shot up from the table, sitting up abruptly. Everyone in the room suddenly surrounded the table. Each one held a shocked but relieved face.

"That hurt like a bitch." Carter rubbed her head. She looked around at everyones faces that were puffy and tear stained.

"Carter? I thought you were gonna-i thought you were." Stiles stutters out coming over to his sister.

He embraces her in a bear hug, "I'm okay Stiles." She smiled into his shoulder.

"You thought you could get rid of me that easily?" Carter cracked a smile, causing her twin to chuckle, bringing her into a hug once more. Scott soon walked over to the twins, the three of them hugging, together just like when they were kids before the supernatural drama.

Once they released Carter out of their embraces, she looked over to see a smiling Isaac Lahey.

"Carter-" He started, but before he could say anymore she jumped off the table, wrapping her arms around him. He lifted her off the ground. In his arms she felt safe, she felt no pain.

"I thought I lost you." He whispered into her ear.

In the shower, Carter washed away the dirt and the blood from the recent events. She let the hot water roll off her skin and breathed in the steam.

She stepped out of the bathroom, pulling a soft tank top on with some joggers.

"Soooo, what's going on between you and Isaac." She heard her brother ask stepping into her room.

"Stiles, I almost died and that's the first thing you want to talk about?" She teased him.

He rolls his eyes, "Yeah yeah I know, I just want to make sure you're being careful, he's a werewolf."

"So is our best friend" Carter reminded him.

"You know what I mean Carter." He sighed. "I almost lost you once, and sure as hell am not going to let that happen again."

Carter went to hug him, noticing the anxiety radiating off of his exterior.

Walking through the hallway once school was finished, Carter walked up to Scott and Isaac.

"How are you feeling?" Scott asked concerned.

"How many times do I have to tell you guys, I'm perfectly fine!" She smiled reassuring them that she was okay. She was more than okay now that her friends were safe.

Walking next to Isaac, she could feel his hand lightly on her lower back. She smiled to herself, feeling sparks from his touch.

"So do you think we're in the clear, you know maybe have a normal life for a bit." Isaac asked hopefully.

Carter slid her hand into his as Scott replies, "I don't think we will ever have a normal life."

Carter sighed, "Maybe we can try to enjoy the time we have right now before all of our lives are threatened again?" she laughed lightly knowing the quiet would only last for so long.

Isaac looked down to meet her eyes, a soft smile playing on his lips.

Scott looked between the two of them, Carter could tell he was skeptical because she was like a sister to him. It wouldn't matter though, whatever Isaac and Carter have together, they were gonna make it work.

Plus Scott can't say too much since he was in love with a hunter.
