We sat there all watching the news and the research that had been provided by other media coverages. The teachers forced us to watch after everything making sure that we knew what was going on.
I fought and I didn't know what the hell was going on. If it was some sort of alien threat then Captain Marvel or Uncle Thor probably would have warned us, warned me about it. I tried to sink back into my seat but groaned as the leather touched my back. I was scared to even look at the black and purple that was going to appear in the morning there.
"Y/n?" I turned slightly grimacing as I looked over to Ned, more importantly to what was resting in his hands. My glasses. After all of the crap that happened, I completely forgot that I had slipped them in his bag.
"Thank you, I just wanted to make sure that they would be safe. My dad made them." He looked like he wanted to ask me more but closed his mouth giving me a sad look. Any other time I probably would have told him more but not right now.
"What's wrong? You seem a bit... off. Come on, it's Paris tomorrow." I looked up to see Peter standing next to me. I tried to not wince as I moved but I noticed that I did.
"Yeah-" Before I could finish I noticed a change in Peter's behavior before I felt something cold touch my back. I let out a groan and knew what had happened before even seeing it.
"Why didn't you tell me this happened? Y/n..." Peter looked down at my back probably to the bruising starting that formed over my shoulder bringing my shirt up to cover the mark I gave a smile to him.
"I am fine, Peter. I swear. It's a tiny bruise. Nothing to worry about." Lie, it wasn't tiny at all, it covered all along my right side and my waist. It was going to hurt in the morning, I knew that but it wasn't anything that could seriously hurt me. No broken bones or internal hemorrhaging.
I needed this vacation. But there was no way that after this situation I wouldn't need to do some other thing. Part of myself hoped that it was just a one-time thing but in my gut that wasn't true.
"Crap. I need to go to call Aunt May. Stay here." I lifted up my hands in a show of surrender as my phone buzzed in my pocket.
Hap: Piazza San Carlo 48, 13010. 6:00. Need an escort?
I didn't recognize the address that was sent to me but I had a good feeling to where it would lead. I knew that there was a SHIELD headquarters somewhere near here, I knew that it was time to tell Fury. Maria knew because she didn't blip out, I just had a feeling that she didn't tell him.
Me: I'm good. See you there.
"What's it this time?" I looked behind me and saw MJ standing looking down at my phone, I tilted it up to her so she could see it more clearly. MJ knew pretty much everything, one day it all just kind of came out.
"Never a normal day, right?"
Peter Parker
"What are you going to do about the water monster?" I groaned at the question. I couldn't stop his questions no matter how hard I tried. He wouldn't stop asking who Mysterio was, and the thing was I didn't know.
"He's dead, and besides, that Mysterio guy and Silver Shadow are all over it!" I whispered yelled to Ned as we walked down the hallways from the bathrooms. "Besides I want to spend some more time with Y/n. We got to catch up a bit and I think that she likes me."
"You are trying to impress Y/n, aren't you? Well beating his ass will totally do that! She knows that you are Spiderman and if you show a little badassness then she might fall for it!" He said to me in a low voice. I noticed that as soon as we got back she seemed to just not really talk to anyone other than MJ, if I didn't know any better I would think that she was in shock but she just laughed it off and told me I was overreading things.
"That is just one part of me! I- I'm just going to be myself."
"Peter no one wants that." Thanks for the vote of confidence bud. I groaned as I walked into our assigned rooms "They want...." I looked over to him as if asking him to continue but then I heard something like a click.
I looked over to where Ned was and then a thump as he collapsed to the couch, my eyes widened.
"You are a very...difficult man to contact, Spiderman." I took in the look of the man sitting in the corner of our hotel room. I knew who it was by the scarring and the eyepatch over his right eye.
"You're Nick Fury. And you just shot Ned." My eyes bounced between Ned and Nick Fury.
"It is just a mild tranquilizer. He will be alright. So good to finally meet you. I saw you at the funeral but I didn't think that would be a good time to exchange numbers." I gave him a weird look.
"No that would have been really inappropriate." By the impatient look on his face, I was guessing that he was joking.
"That is what I just said. The important thing is that you are here... I tried to bring you here but now you are here. What a coincidence wouldn't you say so, Mr. Parker." Wait...
"Wait, was this a coincidence?" I asked him and by the way that he looked at me with his one eye, I am guessing that I should just really shut up at this point.
"I used to know everything. But then I come back 5 years later and now I know nothing. No intel. No team. And a high school kid is dodging my calls. Here is what I do know." He set down a high piece of technology similar to the ones Mr. Stark used.
"A week ago, a village in Mexico was wiped out by a cyclone. Witnesses say that that cyclone had a face." A snore erupted from Ned startling both of us, I was guessing that we were testing his patients a bit too much.
"3 days later, there was a similar event in Morocco that hit a town..." I saw Mr. Harrison come to the door as he knocked.
"Just making the rounds to see if anyone needed emotional counseling after the events that happened today." Mr. Fury pointed his gun in a way that he had direct access to his neck.
"No-No we are fine. All good here." I nervously said my gaze shifting between the two adults.
"Great- because I'm not qualified to do that." Another snore from Ned. "Oh, he's passed out. Ok, good night." He whispered the last part and closed the door.
"That was my teacher, sorry about that. You were saying?"
"A village was destroyed by what may be another world-threatening..." A multitude of knocks sounded from behind the door and a feminine voice came out.
"Babe, are you still awake? You are not answering any of my texts." Betty. By the look on Fury's face he wanted to kill me.
"Uh- He's asleep Betty. MHMM. Yeah Goodnight." I hardly let her speak and before Fury could continue Mr. Dell yelled. "Hey boys. That canal water..." Before I heard anything else I had my attention turned to where Fury was speaking.
"If another person touches that door you and I are going to attend another funeral. Suit up." I had a good feeling that he wasn't kidding in the slightest.
