"no, i refuse to do it."

multiple pairs of eyes were focused on akaashi keiji, the vice captain of fukurodani's boys volleyball team. the ravenette kept his ground, ignoring them.

"b-but akaashi!" bokuto whined, immediately shaking akaashi, all with a pout and wide eyes, "it's the last time we're doing this together! it's just this once!"

"no, bokuto-san, i still refuse to crossdress," akaashi said, completely unaffected.

akaashi keiji was one of the popular guys at fukurodani. atheletic, academically inclined, and also had good looks. he was a catch, and all the girls (and boys) knew it. however, about his looks, he was more on the pretty side. long lashes and softer features than most guys, he was the walking textbook example of a bishounen.

so naturally, of course, the volleyball club wanted to use this to their advantage.

the three day-long school cultural festival was coming up soon. all classes and clubs were to come up with ideas for their booths and submit them to the students council for reviewing and approval by the end of the week.

since the volleyball club had akaashi, they decided to get akaashi to crossdress as mulan (since bokuto desperately wanted to play as shang) for their play, saying that they needed someone with 'ethereal beauty' to pull it off. even kaori and yukie had no problem with it; they agreed that akaashi fit the role more than the both of them.

they had submitted the proposal without him knowing, got it approved, and were now begging him to play as mulan.

"akaashi, please!" konoha pleaded, putting his hands together, "this is our last year, could you do it for us, hm?"

"no, konoha-san," akaashi said, shaking his head, "i suggest either suzumeda-san or shirofuku-san does it. they're better-looking than i am."

"akaashi, you don't understand—" kaori began, just as the gym doors slid open.

tea was standing at the door, some costumes in hand. she stared at them, surveying how everyone was crowded around akaashi, and everyone stared back at her.

suddenly, an idea clicked into everyone's heads, which akaashi widened his eyes to.

"tea-san, hello!" konoha said over-brightly, waving at her, "are you here to drop off the costumes?"

"yeah," she nodded, walking in with a handful of costumes, "i have shang's outfit as well as mulan's. i'll need to go back and grab the rest for you guys to try them. if there's anything wrong with them, the sewing club will do the necessary alterations. though, i have a question: why are mulan's measurements so huge?"

all eyes zeroed in to akaashi and kaori spoke, "well, we're trying to convince akaashi to play mulan, but he really doesn't want to."

she leaned over to whisper in tea's ear, "could you maybe help us to convince him? he's your boyfriend, after all. he has a soft spot for you."

tea lowkey liked this idea. having a boyfriend so effortlessly pretty hurt her most of the time (imagine having compliments of "wow, you're so pretty!" being directed at your boyfriend and not you). and anyway, it was worth flaunting his beauty onstage, right? even if it meant compromising his masculinity for just a little bit.

"keiji," she singsonged, handing yukie the costumes as she walked over to akaashi, "you know, you're really pretty."

"i — no, tea-san, you're even prettier," he said, fumbling over his words just slightly, then whispered as he sweatdropped, "please don't take their side."

"did you know," she said, smiling at him as she cupped his face, "that every girl would kill to have your looks? i honestly think you'd look spectacular in mulan's dress, and i'd like to see you in that."
