(Holy shit. The last chapter of "Eyesight!" I am so happy you guys stuck for this long! I hope you guys enjoy this chapter)!
Leela's POV:
Emptiness. That's all I felt when staring at the casket holding the bodies of my brother and his soulmate. I couldn't cry anymore. My tears had left me. I wish I had more time with my brother. I last saw him after we took our father to his room after I knocked him out. I wish I could turn back the time. I wish I could have Forest back. I wish Holden was still here. I know he didn't do anything wrong. I looked down at my knees. This funeral home was surrounded by friends and family members of me, Forest, and Holden. "Do you need anything baby?" Jack asked. He has been my support throughout the past few days. Him and his family helped pay for the funeral and for the casket to carry the bodies of Forest and Holden. "No. I just want my brother back. The last time I saw him, he told me 'see you later.' And I waited and waited for so long. But he never came back. The police officers told me he died. That it was a murder-suicide and Holden killed Forest and took his own life right after. Holden would never do such a thing. He would never! It was Holden's dad. I know it is. It was his fault!" I yelled, glaring at Holden's father, who just looked away from me. I couldn't look at him anymore. I buried my face in Jack's chest and sobbed. I guess the tears never left. At least you're with Mom now Forest. She's gonna love Holden. I know she will.
Jack's POV:
After awhile, I stood up from my seat. As I was about to walk to Holden's family, a man walked in. He staggered in the room with a bottle of beer in his hand. I heard gasps from Leela and Forest's family members. "Dad?" Leela asked standing up. "Leela?" The man asked. He was blind. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Leela asked. "What do you think I came here for?" He asked. "It better not be to mourn Forest! You don't deserve to! He lived his life everyday in fear because of you! With your fucking alcoholic and abusive self! You beat him so much for no fucking reason! You don't deserve to mourn! Get the fuck out of here right now!" Leela yelled. This shocked her family members. "HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME LIKE THAT???!!!" Leela's dad screamed. Then, two police officers came in and grabbed her dad, arresting him. "WHO THE FUCK CALLED THE POLICE ON ME???!!!" He screamed. "I did. You caused my soulmate and her brother pain. You deserve to be locked up." I said. The police eventually took him away and Leela sat back down. I went over to Holden's family. I bent down in front of a little girl with short black hair. "Are you Lydia?" I asked. The girl looked up at me. She nodded, wiping her tears. I took an envelope out of my jacket pocket and handed it to her. "Holden wanted you to read this. I'm very sorry about your loss." I said, patting the girl's shoulder and walking away to sit next to Leela.
Lydia's POV:
I carefully opened the envelope and took out a paper. It was a letter. I unfolded it and began reading.
Hi Lydia!
It's me! Your lovely brother Holden! I miss you so much. I hope you're doing well. I'm ok. I'm staying with Forest's sister's soulmate. Him and his family are so nice.
I hope Mom and Dad aren't giving you trouble. You don't have to stay mad at them. I'm planning on talking with them and sorting out our differences and beliefs. I just wanna be a part of your life. I don't wanna have to keep sending letters.
To be honest, I don't even know if you're gonna get this. Dad will probably try to hide it from you. But if you do get this letter, please tell Mom and Dad that I love them. Even after what they did, I still love them. Lydia, please make sure that Asher will take care of you. I don't wanna have to yell at someone's kid.
Lydia, I love you so much. Please remember that. Even if we never see each other again, which I hope will never happen, please remember that I will always love you and will be there for you and will support you. Even if I'm not there physically. You're strong. Remember that. I love you Lydia. I hope to see you soon.
