Secrets & Lies (𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑜𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑢𝑒𝑑)

-Chapter 24-

[Gym Three]

[Third Person]

All three if them stood there in an awkward silence, that was until Bokuto said something, "So... do you mind telling us?" He said, Hinata stayed quiet as his face grew sadder, "We don't want to pressure anything Hinata, so it's okay if you don't want to tell us." Akaashi said, "No... I'll tell you." Hinata then took a deep breath and spoke-

"My father is abusive." He said quietly but the two heard loud and clear which was why their faces changed so quickly, "Your father... abuses you?" Akaashi repeated, the ace and the setter had no idea what to do, they watched as Hinata continued to speak.

"Yes... around when Natsu was a newborn, he started acting strange and then after a few months was when he started to get physical." Hinata stood there as his shoulders tensed, he felt like someone was choking him as he was stuck on
his words but the feeling soon stopped as he was embraced by another hug by Akaashi, but this one was different- this hug was more protective and it made Hinata feel safe once again.

"Has he done anything else?" Bokuto asked, his voice came out harsh but both Akaashi and Hinata knew that he was mad, "He... he has done other things." Akaashi held onto Hinata tighter, like a child not wanting to let go of their parents on the first day of school (look man- I don't know myself), "Like what?" Bokuto said but Hinata only stayed quiet, "Don't pressure him, Bokuto-san." Akaashi said shooting the ace a glare which lead to Bokuto apologising.

As the three were having their moment in the gym, someone soon walked in on them, "Ah- there you guys are." Sugawara said standing near the entrance, "What's going on? You've three have been taking a while and it's almost lights out." He added, "Sorry Sugawara-san, we were just talking and must've lost track of time." Akaashi replied, "Oh, okay, are you guys going to come back now?" Suga asked, "Yeah." Both Bokuto and Hinata said at the same time.

Sugawara left out a small laugh saying how they only had a few more minutes before they had to actually get back to their rooms, he then left leaving the three behind.

"Hey, how about we continue this tomorrow? We should probably get back before the coaches decide to do something." Bokuto said whilst stretching, "Uh, sure." Hinata replied back, he didn't exactly want to say anymore especially since he didn't want to drag his friends down with him, even though he already did.

"Alright, let's lock up the gym and head to our rooms." Akaashi said as he started walking to the gym doors with Bokuto and Hinata following close behind, after a few minutes with the gym being locked up, the boys were already on their way back to the rooms.

"Hey Hinata, will you be okay to go home? We're leaving tomorrow incase you've forgotten." Bokuto said, "I'll be a-okay!" Hinata replied with a smile to which melted the aces heart, "Alright, this is where we spilt off, goodnight Hinata." Akaashi said as he waved to the decoy, "Night guys! I'll see you in the morning." Hinata said, "Night Hinata!" Bokuto yelled.

And now Hinata was alone.

Alone with his thoughts.

But it soon ended when he entered Karasuno's room- he found Nishinoya and Tanaka having each other in headlocks, Daichi looked like he was about to lose it, Kageyama and Tsukishima were in the middle of an argument while Yamaguchi was just sitting there listening, Ennoshita, Narita and Knnoshita were all in a group having some conversation while Sugawara and Asahi just stood there as they watched the ruckus between Daichi and the other second years.

Hinata let out a small laugh with gained the attention from Sugawara, "Your back!" He said with his motherly smile, "I was wondering when you were gonna come back, you seemed to have taken forever." He added with a chuckle, "Yeah, sorry about that, we lost track of time." Hinata said as he smiled sheepishly.

After a few minutes, everyone seemed to have calmed down and we're all asleep in their own futons. Hinata loved moments like these- being able to sleep without any disruptions and he felt safe once again. Sometimes he wished peaceful things like this could last for just a bit longer.

He wished.
