[The walk home]
[Third Person]
The words raced through Hinata's mind over and over, he looked down at his sister who was holding his handing with a firm grip, "Onii-chan?" Hinata snapped out of whatever he was thinking and hummed, "Will he be home?" She said again, "It depends, maybe he'll be at work but if he is at home, I need you to be quiet and sneak off to your room, okay?" Hinata said as Natsu nodded.
Their father was the type of man who'd welcome his children with a good smack across the head or if they were lucky, harsh words would be thrown their way instead, but Hinata being the big brother he was, he always protected his sister so all she had was words while Hinata took the physical attack.
[Time skip]
The two finally got home and now stood at the door step, if you were to put your hand against their chests, you'd probably freak out about how fast their hearts were beating.
Hinata took out the house key from the pockets of his hoodie and unlocked the door quietly, he was like a small mouse, sneaky and quiet, able to go anywhere without anyone noticing his absence but his father seemed to know when Hinata was sneaking about so even if Hinata was tip toeing around the house, he would find out either way.
The door opened revealing a dark hallway, Hinata took the first step and walked in with Natsu closely behind, he shut the front door and continued down the hall as he heard his sister's quiet whimpers.
As they turned the corner, Hinata's eye widened.
He pushed Natsu behind the wall and told her to stay there.
He looked back with utter fear and worry in his eyes.
The smell.
The darkness.
The quietness.
It all made sense now...
Hinata's mother laid motionless on the floor with a pool of blood that surrounded her body. Hinata looked back to make sure his sister didn't see and rushed over to his mother kneeling down next to her body.
"Okaa-san?" He said quietly, checking for a pulse, a sigh of relief escaped his lips as she was alive but Hinata didn't waste a second to call the ambulance.
After the call, Hinata got up quickly to open one of the blinds so the light could shine in, "Onii-chan? Can I come out now?" Natsu said as she was still behind the wall, Hinata's body stiffened while he made his way to her, "Natsu, can you please go to your room and unpack your things? And make sure to stay up there, I just need to deal with something for now, okay?" The girl looked at her brother with a confused face, "Okay." She said and walked back down the hall going up the staircase that lead to the second floor.
Hinata let out a shaky sigh as he walked back to his mother, now with the light shining into the room, everything was clear.
There his mother laid with the pool of blood coming from either her head or something else, there were bottles and shattered glass scattered everywhere around the room along with droplets of blood on the walls.
The boy sat next to his mother and reached out for her hand, but stopped himself. Where's Father?
