10. Donnie's Realization

Donnie's p.o.v

Something is poking my beak, so I groan and furrow my eye-ridges as I just try to stay asleep "Donnie...?... Donnie" a voice says quietly. Opening my eyes a little I see (Y/n), but she has a soft blush on her face as she's smiling nervously. "You're kind of not letting me go" (Y/n) says, that's when I realized my arms are around her waist. Blushing I let go and try to scoot away, but I ended up falling on the floor as I nervously laugh. "S-Sorry, I didn't mean to-" "it's fine, Donnie.. we were both sleeping" (Y/n) answers as she looks at me from the bed.

I feel my blush darken as I look up at the clock 'nine in the morning... I didn't think I'd wake up this early because of last night.' Sitting up I stretch a little as (Y/n) asks "so, you don't ever take off your mask??" I shake my head. "I take it off when I remember, last night we stayed up for so long, I forgot I had it on honestly." She nods her head in understanding, but she also says "did that Weeza and-" "Tigerclaw thing really happen? Yeah. I just question why it had that music number" (Y/n) just says "I think it was from this movie, just like Queen of Mean."

That got to me "so she's basically making the bad guys do music numbers like this is some type of show for - nevermind, I almost forgot." I stand up and walk towards the door, but (Y/n) got my attention "are you okay?? That was a pretty big truth bomb I dropped." Looking back at her I see her look of worriedness that she's giving me, so I look down at the floor. "I'm pretty sure I'm okay, you guys probably only seen what happened when we hit fifteen. Everything that happened before was all me" I say and smile back at her, she smiles softly.

"I'm glad you can see the bright side to this, Donnie" (Y/n) says and looks around the room "I guess I'm gonna have to go shopping with April. I have nothing to change into" I chuckle saying "not with that fashion" she fake gasped. "How dare you make fun of my wonderful clothing! At least I'm not just wearing a mask that hides nothing." I blush and she laughs a little "look who wins" she says and goes out first, so I playfully roll my eyes. Walking after her I say "that wasn't really a competition, (Y/n)-" "but it also really was."

'Wait, what??' I think to myself as I just see her playful smile, so we both laugh as we just walk in the kitchen to see Mikey didn't make breakfast. "Hey guys, today's my morning off, so it's cereal today" Mikey says and sets the cereal on the counter. I smile and go to grab my coffee first "yeah, I just got done making that, so you it's gonna be hot." Ignoring his words I take a sip and sigh in satisfaction "I still question how you can drink that." Glaring at Mikey a little I say "well, I still question how you can eat street pizza."

(Y/n) laughs a little as she gets herself a bowl of cereal, I sit down and just ask "Mikey, can you make me some toast please??" He nods his head. "Yeah, but that's only because of what happened last time" Mikey answers and grabs out some bread. (Y/n) looks at me confused "what happened last time??" She asks with a smile starting to grow. I blush and try to act like I can't answer her because I'm drinking my coffee, but Mikey answered her. "Donnie burnt the toast and it flew through the lair into Leo's face" Mikey answered while laughing.

I try not to make eye contact with either of them as I continued to take a big drink of the coffee, but Mikey says "here's your toast, Don." Taking a bite I see Mikey trying not to laugh as he's seeing (Y/n) getting close to laughing milk out of her nose. I raise an eye-ridge at them both "what's so funny??" (Y/n) hard swallowed what was in her mouth. Then she fell back laughing "s-s-s-sorry! I-I-" is all (Y/n) got out as she continued to laugh on the floor. Mikey shrugged his shoulders saying "I don't know, I was just laughing at how she looked."

(Y/n)'s laugh is also contagious as I chuckle and take another bite of my toast when Leo walks in "finally you two wake up. There's a meeting in the dojo in about ten minutes" Leo says and gets himself a water bottle. I nod my head along with Mikey, but (Y/n) wiped a tear saying "whew" I look at her shocked. "Did you really laugh that hard??" I ask as I set my toast down, she nods her head as Mikey chuckles. She finished her cereal and went to the sink to wash her bowl as I finish my coffee and take my last bite of toast.

Mikey walks out.... which left me with (Y/n) 'did I fall in love at first sight again??' I think as I sneak a peek at (Y/n). She's having a smile.. she's also humming a song to herself as she's washing her bowl happily. 'Okay, now that is just too cute to ignore... do I just fall in love at first sight now??.. no, or I would've liked Weeza. Not my type, or I could've liked Karai, I'm not that stupid, but... how do I like (Y/n)??' I think to myself. (Y/n)'s voice interrupts my thoughts "you know, you can't really clean that without soap, Donnie."

Blushing I realize I've just been rubbing water and old coffee around my mug this entire time, so I nervously laugh saying "th-thank you." (Y/n) giggles saying "no prob, Don, but what are you thinking about??" I try to think of a lie. "Jus-just thinking on how to make that device, you know how tricky that can be" I stutter out. 'Donnie, what are you doing?! Stuttering will show that I am lying-' "yeah, I can see that, well, see ya in the dojo." 'Or I get lucky that she seems oblivious'  I think happily and finally finish washing my mug.
