"Anytime I'm alone, I can't help thinking about you. All I want, all I need, all I see is just me and you."
Jisung watched with a straight face as his sworn enemy held his girlfriend's face in her hands, the two singing along to the song blasting throughout the backyard, their faces way too close for Jisung's liking. Eyes too glazed, smiles too wide. After letting out a scoff he notices his girlfriend making her way over to him, her yellow bikini looking even brighter in the sunlight. She climbs onto the lounge chair Jisung occupied on her hands and knees, leaning forward so she can whisper in his ear, her left hand resting against his waist.
"Anytime, anywhere, babyboy I can misbehave."
Jay sits back on her heels with a quiet laugh after feeling her boyfriend squirm, her hand previously resting upon his waist now trailing down along his thigh and stopping to grip his knee.
"You want anything to drink?"
Jisung shakes his head and his girlfriend stands up, asking everyone if they want a drink before making her way back inside the house. His attention turns to scan his group of friends before making his way inside. He finds Jay in the kitchen, pouring multiple cups of different liquids. Some intoxicating, some not. Jisung places his hand against her lower back and trails it up, softly gripping the hair at the nape of her neck, his other hand holding her hip. This earns a confused whine from Jay who turns around with Jisung's hand still in her hair. She locks eyes with him and slightly shifts her body onto her other leg. Her eyes flutter before she speaks up.
"Chan's waiting on his drink, baby."
"Please?"
"No."
Soft lips are pressed against Jisung's chest before Jay heads outside, red solo cups taking up her hands. Jisung watches as she hands out the designated drinks and then sits in a lounge chair to watch Lay and Felix attempt to make tiktoks. A few moments later, a large splash of water is made as Jisung does a cannonball into the house's shared pool. Kayla and Jewel complain as their food gets sprinkled with droplets of water so Jay apologizes on her boyfriend's behalf, telling him to be careful next time. He flips her off and goes back underwater, air bubbles making their way to the surface.
The once bright blue sky was now almost pitch black and the only sources of light were the moon and the endless string lights draped around the backyard. Water splashing and laughter could be heard from surrounding homes as the friend group took turns playing chicken. Chan and Changbin were in the lead, having beat every other pairing. It was currently Jay and Jisung against Lay and Minho. Both girls settled on shoulders, Chan yells for the round to start. After fighting back and forth, Jay is finally able to push Lay back. She ends up falling into the water along with her friend, Jisung excitedly exclaiming that they had won that round. His smile faded quickly once he saw the two girls come up from the water, Lay's hands gripping under his girlfriend's thighs as Jay has her legs wrapped around her waist and hands holding onto her shoulders. They laugh once they're finally able to see each other and Lay explains that she had let Jay win.
"This is boring, I don't wanna play anymore."
The entire group looks over at Jisung, confused. Minho breaks the silence.
"You're boring... go sit out then."
Jisung rolls his eyes and leaves the pool, laying back on another lounge chair.
Many rounds of chicken later, Jisung raises his voice. Chan, Felix and Jay turn their attention to him.
"Jay, come on. We're going inside."
"What?"
"Let's go."
"Ji, no. We're still playing."
"No, I want you inside."
"For what?"
"I just don't trust you and Lay. Let's go."
This catches the attention of Minho, Jewel, Madde, Seungmin, Yara, Kayla, Jeongin, Changbin, Hyunjin and most importantly, Lay. Everyone goes quiet.
"Excuse me?"
"Can we just fucking go inside?"
Jay silently moves from her spot on the edge of the pool and walks past Jisung, closing the sliding door behind her as she walks inside. Jisung glances over at Lay and sighs, following in his girlfriend's footsteps. After a few seconds, Minho lets out an awkward laugh.
"Well he's fucked."
Chan smacks him on the arm and they all go back to playing, aside from Lay who takes her place on the grass. Inside, Jay stands in the middle of her and Jisung's shared bedroom, arms crossed with a straight face. The boy under fire stands directly in front of her, his back pressed against the door.
"Stop looking so upset."
"Apologize."
"What? I didn't even do anything. You guys need to apologize."
"No, actually, we don't Jisung. Because we didn't do anything. What's your problem today? You've been acting weird."
"You and Lay are my problem! You're basically cheating right in front of me."
This earns an eyebrow raise and scoff from Jay, her arms falling to her sides.
"Are you serious right now?"
"Clearly."
"Well until you realize what you just said and why everything you're thinking is wrong, I don't want to talk to you. And you need to apologize to everyone. Especially Lay."
"I have nothing to apologize for."
"That right there is something."
Jay walks forward and puts her hand on the doorknob, Jisung moving her hand. They lock eyes and for a moment Jisung thinks he's won but Jay doesn't smile or look away. Her eyes remain cold and he realizes she's serious this time. He moves to the side and within a matter of seconds, Jay is back outside with all of their friends.
Hours pass by and Jisung remains inside, only seeing his girlfriend when she goes up for bed, still not speaking to him. He didn't understand what he did wrong. Was he just not allowed to have these kinds of feelings? He pushes the thoughts away and goes to bed, ending the night cold and upset.
