There's a scar that no one sees.
Only I can feel it bleeding,
And only you know it's there.
We don't need to acknowledge it
That won't change the past
Looking at a wound never healed it anyways.
But,
If I say it's O.K., will that make you stay?
Can a lie push our problems out of the way?
If I say I forgive you, will that make the pain go away?
Can a simple lie salvage what's left of me anyways?
Can we turn back the clock to the days of innocence?
Or am I just spouting nonsense?
