Chapter Fifteen : Meia's Secret

(Meia's pov)

I climbed in through Mephisto's window falling face first on his dresser.

The first thing I noticed when I looked around was pink.

Pink. Everywhere.

Yay!

My favorite color! He loves it too.

I started jumping up and down with excitement.

Yay! Yay! Yay!

"Yay! " I screamed.

Then Mephisto ran into the room.

I saw him relax when he relized who it was making all the noise in his room.

"Meia... " he said happily.

I ran to him and hugged him.

Then I remembered what I came here to say.

"I'm sorry." I said struggling to not cry.

I must tell someone.

"What? " he said pulling away.

"Meia, what's wrong? Is it me, is it-"

"It's not you. It's.... " I said trailing off remembering what happened.

"Oh, Mephisto. I made a deal, with the devil.... "

Then I told him what happened.

Then I died.

I saw his face though, before I died. I spoke to him before I went.

Mephisto.

Stay....

I'm spinning...

Where am I?

I'm standing in a shallow pond and the world is below me.

I'm drifting away yet standing at the same time.

Hold on Meia.

I fall into the pond.

Mephisto, where are you!

Where am I?

What's happening?

"I know you're confused right now. " I heard a voice say.

The voice.... It's coming from the pond!

I looked more closely at it and it revealed a blue flame.

"Who are you? "

"A friend. I can help you. "

"With what? "

"Going back to your Mephisto. "

"How do you know about him! "

"We're related, in a way... "

Related?

"Can you help me see him again? " I ask.

"Yes. Let's make a deal. You will see him again, in return for a little...favor. " he said then went on.

"There's a threat. A threat to me in the future. You can see into the future and find out what the threat is. Stop it and save me. Then, I'll let you see your Mephisto again. "

"Really!" I shouted.

"Really. Just sign.... "

A piece of paper and a pen appeared in front of me.

"Here. "

I quickly signed the piece of paper and it disappeared.

"Now, wait... " he said and the pond disappeared like the paper and pen.

I'm falling.

Falling in time.

Look into the future, I tell myself.

What's the threat, I ask myself.

Then I see it.

The threat is.... My mother.

Oh my goodness.

Then I land.

The ground, it's soft and green.

Where am I?

I look up to see a school.

Mephisto, is this where you are?

"I have to kill my mother to stay here with you. I have to kill my mother to save Yuki. I have to kill my mother to save the world. " I said laying in Mephisto's arms.

"I hate her. I do. But I also love her. I don't know if I'll be able to do it. Even after all she's done... I -"

I started to cry.

The tears spilt all over my face.

"I can't do it, Mephisto. But I can't leave you! "

"It's okay. It's gonna be okay. " he said.

"I know you're lying but.... Tell me more. "

"No one will ever hurt you. The world is full of nice people who will always help you. Everyone has amazing and perfect lives. No one ever dies. No one ever gets sick. Everything is beautiful. The tooth fairy is real and so is Santa. No child will ever be harmed. No person is hungry. Everything is fine. It will be this way... Forever. "

"Thank you, Mephisto. "

I kissed him and for a second, just a second, his entire lie was truth.
