Fortunately, the dinner went well between both of them. They got to know more about themselves and talked about the different careers they would like to pursue. Sarah told him that she would like to be an artist because she had a passion for it and it has always been her dream.

Adrian was not surprised by her choice of career and told her that he expected it from her since she has a reserved personality. When she asked him what line of profession he would love to embark on, she was surprised by his response.

"I would love to be a pilot," he told her.

"Don't tell me you're shocked?"

"Actually, I am!" Sarah replied.

"Really, is it that surprising?"

"Of course, it is! Who would ever expect that the famous Adrian Walker would want to be a pilot?" Sarah asked in disbelief.

"I would believe myself," he said before taking a sip of the wine from the glass.

"So, tell me, why would you want to be a pilot?" Sarah inquired as she took a bite from her steak.

"Umm, just like you, it has always been my dream. I fell in love with it the first time I went skydiving with my mum on my fifteenth birthday. Since then, I knew that I was called to ride the skies but, things don't always go the way we plan because I would be going to business school the moment I graduate from high school."

"Wow, that's poignant," was the only thing Sarah could say because she was seeing a part of Adrian which he had kept hidden from the outside world.

They chatted more and talked about many other things. Some of which were relevant and others weren't. After having a full of their outing and seeing that it was about time to call it a wrap on a fantastic evening, they made their way out of the building.

They got back to her place at about ten in the evening and Sarah was already exhausted from all the food and the ride. Adrian walked her up to her doorstep.

"I really enjoyed tonight and I'm glad I didn't turn down your invite," Sarah said as they got to the doorsteps of her house.

"Sweetheart, you don't have to be thankful. If there's anyone that should be thankful, it's me. I'm so glad I got to meet you," Adrian countered as he took a step towards her and swiped the strand of hair that rested on her forehead.

They both stood there looking into each other's eyes as the sparks flew between them. Sarah cleared her throat, "Umm... I think I should be heading inside now?"

"Buttercup, are you asking a question or making a statement?"

"Haha," Sarah laughed nervously, "it was definitely a statement."

Adrian gave a low chuckle as he sensed that she was getting shy already. "Goodnight then," he said as he dropped his hand from her face and took a step back.

"Yeah, goodnight, see you in school tomorrow," Sarah replied.

She opened the door and went inside while Adrian watched her retrieving back. As soon as she closed the door, there was a knock on it. Wondering if Adrian forgot something, she opened the door.

"Um... I think I forgot to tell you something," he said awkwardly.

"You think or you're sure?" Sarah questioned while folding her arms across her chest.

"Actually," he said taking a step towards her making Sarah drop her hands. One more step by him and there would be no space between them which was Sarah hoped for.

Sarah's eyes were drawn to his lip and even though she could see them moving, she couldn't make out what he was saying because she was dreaming of what they would taste and like on hers. She was so engaged in being the anchor of her fantasy that she didn't hear the last words he said before he closed the space between them and captured her lips with his.

His lips were soft like a roll of cotton candy and tasted of expensive wine. Sarah found herself wanting more and her hands responded to her thoughts by going straight for Adrian's hair and deepening the kiss. His hair was silky and soft, and she felt herself getting intoxicated in it. It was her first real kiss with him and it was definitely worth it because it felt like a carnival of fireworks was unleashed in her stomach.

Unfortunately, they had to stop their little exploration of feelings and hormones because they needed to breathe. Their panting for air would have made anyone who saw them at the moment think that they had just run an Olympic race.

"That was wonderful," Sarah whispered breathlessly.

"No, it was magical. Goodnight my love, I'll see you in school tomorrow." Adrian said.

Sarah nodded her head in reply as she watched him go back to his car and drove off. This wasn't the first time that he had kissed her but since he opened up to her at the dinner, she felt closer to him.

There was a sense of relief on her side because she knew she wasn't alone. There was still someone whom she could trust and though their relationship wasn't certain, the kiss they had just shared was a proof of something optimistic happening between both of them.

Sarah was so engrossed in thinking about Adrian's lips on hers and the near future that she didn't notice the figure that stood in the shadows, watching her with so much disdain...
