"Adrian," Sarah cried out as she turned around to find out he was the one person who had held her hands. "You scared the shit out of me!" she queried.
"I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you," Adrian answered back nervously.
"When did you get back and what do you want from me?" Sarah inquired sternly.
"I know you're mad at me, but please don't shut me out," Adrian pleaded.
Sara laughed callously at his entreaty and asked, "Did I just hear you say that I shouldn't shut you out?"
"Sarah-"
"Don't you dare Sarah me," she lashed out. "How could you even say that boldly when you've shut me out of a reasonable part of your life? Um...tell me?!" Sarah yelled furiously at Adrian.
She was enraged by his words. He didn't deserve to tell her any of what he had just stated because she knew he didn't trust her. He had left her all alone after stating that he would always be there for her. She had no one to confide in for the past two weeks except her mum who was always busy with work and trying to see that she was happy despite what had transpired between her Clara.
When she needed him the most he wasn't there and now he came back pleading that she shouldn't shut him out.
He must be joking, Sarah scoffed. If he didn't trust her then she saw no reason why she should.
"I didn't shut you out and I only said I would tell you when the time is right," Adrian defended.
He knew she was livid with him but he had to make her see reasons. He wasn't certain about how she would react after finding out about his complicated life.
"Really, then I don't think the time is right for me to talk to you," Sarah fired back.
"Why are you being this way?" Adrian asked. "I'm just trying to see if you're okay. I've been worried sick about how you've been coping with everything."
"Really? Then explain to me how is it that, you're only available when something goes wrong?" Sarah challenged.
Wait a minute, are you trying to say I've something to do with those murders?" Adrian asked in disbelief. He couldn't believe that Sarah would have thought so low of him.
"I'm only responsible for what I say and not how you interpret it," Sarah replied. "By the way, what do you expect me to think when you are being evasive about your whereabouts?"
"I really can't believe that you would think so poorly of me. Fine, I know I have feelings for you and I really like you but that doesn't mean I would go around killing a bunch of people just to get to you. How does that even make any sense?" Adrian spewed out without noticing that he had unknowingly confessed his feelings to her.
