We were all drowning
We could feel the salt crystallizing in our lungs
The bubbles becoming the echo to our living
And the thrashing waves, our silence. That day the sun was shining
The clouds parting to pay their respects
The birds were kind enough to chirp their hymnal
And hoped that the waves would carry their prayers for us
The fishes neath welcomed us to their hearth
And sheltered us under their fins and invited us to their hearthMy hands were flailing for goodbye
Waving not for attention! We were all drowning
But not dying!
