Sweat pelts the skin
Like showers in morning gloom.I dragged my feet to the kitchen
The heat melting my soul
As I start to puddle at the floor.I rummaged the cupboard for food and
The fridge for quiet resolute
But found none.I surrendered to the pandering of my warming heart
And slept the afternoon away
Till the evening chill woke meAnd welcomed the never setting midnight sun
To a dreamless night and a
Silent conversation
With darkness.
