I got ready and went to Harvey's at about six o'clock. I texted him that I was leaving.

When I got to his house, Caleb's and Harvey's car pulled up at the exact same time.

"Where are you coming from? There's a dinner at your house!" I say to Harvey.

"Yeah and I couldn't bear being here without you. That's why I asked you to text me so I could reach at the same time as you." Harvey said.

"Don't worry, it's not a coincidence that all of us got here the exact same second. Harvey is just crazy about you." Caleb says laughing while Harvey gives him a stinky eye.

"Let's ignore Caleb and go inside." Harvey said and took my hand and started walking in.

We walked in and I saw Harvey's dad talking with other rich looking men and his mom guiding the servants of how things were supposed to be done.

I looked around and everyone was talking to each other sitting in some corner except Ethan, he was seated on the couch and was looking at me smiling.

Harvey's mom came and greeted me and Caleb.  She also informed Harvey that Ethan will be staying at their house until he's in town because it's not good for him to stay at a hotel.

Harvey didn't protest a lot against her mother. Maybe it was because he respected her or he didn't mind Ethan. I'm thinking the first option.

We sat on the dining table which was huge. If I sat on one side and shouted at the top of my lungs, my voice still wouldn't reach the other side. Dramatic? I know.

I was seated between Harvey and Caleb. Ethan was sitting across me. Of course he had to sit there.

"You should eat more, Clare." ,"Can you eat more than that?" Ethan and Harvey said at the same time.

"It's Clary." I corrected Ethan and ignored their comments on my eating.

"Clary, you should eat..." Ethan starts but I cut him off.

"Ethan, why do you care?" I ask already tired. I didn't wanna argue with him.

If we're going to run into each other this much, we should at least try to stand each other and not start arguing about something every time.

"I'm always gonna care, Clare." He said.

I didn't correct him this time. I just ignored what he said because I didn't know what to say to that.

"Why don't you just back off, man?" Harvey said to Ethan.

"She clearly doesn't want anything to do with you now." Caleb added.

"What do you know about that? You've known her for what? A month?" Ethan replied angrily.

"Ethan, I swear if..." Harvey started to warn Ethan.

"Harvey, stop. It's okay." I tried to calm him down. He nodded and shut up.

"I'm gonna go outside and get some air." Harvey said and got up giving one last look to Ethan.

"I'm gonna go check on him." Caleb said and left too.

"Little Harvey is too young to be alone?" Ethan said after Caleb in a baby voice, mocking him.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you being like this?" I said. Ethan had never acted like this when we were dating.

"Nothing's wrong with me. Harvey was purposely trying to provoke me." Ethan said trying to blame Harvey.

"Oh really? I didn't see it."

"Of course, you didn't. What is the deal with you and him anyway? Why do you hang out with him. He is..."

"Be careful." I warn him.

"Unworthy of you. How's that?" Ethan smirks.

"How can you say that? He is your brother."

"Cousin brother. And didn't you notice? We don't exactly share the brotherly bond. He shouldn't even be a part of this family."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Nothing. Leave it." Ethan said and walked away.

I'm curious now. Why do Harvey and Caleb hate Ethan? I'll ask them when the time is right.

I go and search outside for Harvey and Caleb but they were nowhere to be found. If they left me again, I'm never talking to them.

Someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around to see Caleb.

"Where's Harvey?" I say trying to look behind him but he blocked my view.

"He's talking to his mother." Caleb lied.

"She's standing right there. Besides, I can tell by your face that you're hiding something."

"What're you guys talking about?" Harvey said from behind me.

"You." I said turning around to face him.

"Good things. I hope." Harvey says dramatically.

"Where were you?" I ask him ignoring his previous comment.

"I went to regain my energy the old fashioned way." Harvey smiled.

The old fashioned way? What is that?

"Drugs?" Caleb asked confused.

"Chocolate. Caleb, I went to get chocolate." Harvey said rolling his eyes. He took out a big bar from his pocket and gave it to me.
