NCT 127: He says "this one's for you" before going for a three pointer but ends up missing the basket completely

a/n: my ex who's my height (165cm/5'5) used to say this all the time and he literally never made it once and i would just lose it and laugh and he'd get so mad like ok tyrion lannister 😭😭 either way that inspired me to write this reaction

Johnny

Johnny was somewhat confident because that's just how you made him feel so he attempted to score from a very big distance. He threw the ball once, missing the hoop. Johnny asked for another chance and you though he would try once more from the same position, except that time he decided to stand right next to the basket and just throw the ball lightly to get it in.

"It's the thought that counts, not the distance, y/n."

Taeyong

Your lover boy bet that he would be able to score those three points and the fact that you said he couldn't only fuel him more. The second the ball hit the hoop, just to bounce right back in his position, he threw his hands in the air and started running around the court celebrating as if he had actually scored.

"Wooooooooh! Your boyfriend is a basketball prodigy!"

Yuta

Yuta can be goofy so jokingly he decided to tell you that his next shot was dedicated to you. You knew he would most likely miss the basket since he was way too far from it. As expected, the ball bounced away from where it was meant to go and when you looked at Yuta, you saw him running away from the court and from you, leaving you there to laugh until he came back laughing at his own joke.

Doyoung

The ball would hit the glass behind it being deflected away from the hoop. His eyes would narrow at the untouched net and his hands would come to his hips while you tried not to burst out laughing. When he looked at you he simply said:

"I hope you know my love for you wasn't actually dependent on that shot."

Jaehyun

As soon as he said it you knew you'd be there for a while. He was usually cheesy with you and he had said it a few times in the past. He throws the ball and, as everyone expected, it lands way off. Jaehyun held his finger up as if to tell you to wait. He grabs the ball and tries again, and then again, and again and a few more times until he finally gets it and punches the air.

"Yeah! First try! See, y/n? That's how much you mean to me."

WinWin

When he told you he would go for a three pointer just for you, you actually felt flattered. Maybe he's secretly really good at basketball you thought. Yeah, you thought. The ball would miss by an embarrassingly large distance. As you looked at your boyfriend nearly crying from keeping your laughter in, his reply, which he immediately explained to be a joke, had you stop laughing really fast.

"Meh, I guess I don't love you that much. WAIT, IT'S A JOKE!!"

Jungwoo

He made sure to at least try and do the math to see if he could accurately get the ball into the basket. Jungwoo, however, was far from a physicist so the ball went over the target. He would run to you with a big pout on his face before hugging you.

"I'm sorry I didn't get it but I swear I was trying my best for you."

Mark

We've all seen the clip where he dedicates his shot to us, nctzens, and fails miserably. Same thing would happen. The ball wouldn't even come close, but Mark wouldn't care. He would start giggling like he always does, having you join him after he spoke through his laughter.

"Damn it, I can never get it!"

Haechan

Haechan knew he most likely wouldn't make it, but he thought it was cute to say it. As soon as the ball bounces off of the hoop you notice how his hand is still above his eyes covering the sun and he's looking at the sky above.

"Wow, I must have thrown it too hard, it won't come down. I guess we won't know if I made it or not. Let's go, baby."
