" Are you alright master you look horrible?" Halin shrieked, his deep dark eyes shining with concern.

After the dream I had last night I have gotten little sleep.

Under the dim light of a candle, I read over the vision stopper potion again and again. The potion is supposed to last well....forever. Instead, it only lasted a day.

I spat out the frothy toothpaste into the basin. I looked up into the slightly cracked mirror. I can see what Halin was saying, I do look horrible.

Rogue strands of my midnight black hair stood disheveled. Dark rings have formed under my sunken-in eyes.  My newly forming beard darkened my chin and cheeks.

"I'm fine Halin just had a bad night. It's nothing you have to worry about. After training, I'll go to the library and see what happened." I explained.

"Was it the girl again master?"

" Yes, Halin it was. I don't know why that vision stopped didn't work." I sighed.

" Well, I wouldn't know either because you know I'm just a bird. But what I do know is that you will figure it out."

" Thank you Halin."

" Tobias breakfast!" My mam yelled.

" Come on bud let's go get some grub, cause I don't know about you but I'm starving."

I pulled the old wicker chair out and sunk into it. The steamy cup of coffee and the hot plate of eggs and bacon sat before me on the old table.

" How did you sleep?" She asked sipping her tea.

" Since when are you interested?" I asked stuffing a fork full of eggs into my mouth. The fluffy substance lit up my taste buds. They were like miny fireworks in my mouth.

" Isn't that what moms and sons do, they check in with each other."

" This is weird."

" Yeah it is, you should just go."

" Yeah, bye."

The morning sun was beating down on me. I could already tell today was going to be scorching. The smaller birds fleed at the sight of Halin.

When I reached the arena Veronica, Naomi and Agatha were waiting for me.

" We are all going to perform a spell together. As familiar witches, we need to learn to work together. Now let's go."

Veronica took the lead, Naomi followed her then Agatha then me.

" So how are you enjoying the familiar lessons so far?" Agatha asked.

Agatha came to the coven ten years ago when her parents died from a mob attack. Martha wasn't very interested in taking care of Agatha so my aunt and Maxine looked after her most of the time.

This must be why Agatha is very carefree. Her long blond hair is basically a rainbow with multiple streaks dyed into it. Her deep doe eyes illuminated in the sun. Her skin is a mixture between a peachy tan and milky white. She stands just under me at six feet tall.

Havoc hissed at me from her arms. His midnight fur and green eyes stood out in the dimly lit passage.

" It's been alright." I shrugged.

Veronica led us back to the room we went to yesterday. The beanbag and podium were packed away.

" Take a seat in a circle and place your familiar in front of you." Veronica instructed.
