Twenty-four hours, fifty minutes, and fifteen seconds until the wedding. Until we are finally free.
This time tomorrow we will be on the road towards the docks. We'll hop on a boat and leave the county. By the time everyone realizes we're missing, we will be long gone.
Over the last two days, Naomi and I have been gathering spells to help us stay hidden once we leave.
So far we have every cloaking spell memorized and written down just in case we forget, can never be too careful especially with what's at stake.
Last night we managed to find a spell that will also cloak our familiars so that the familiar witches won't be able to use them to find us.
Sighing I looked at my watch.
One day, fifty-one minutes, and seven seconds.
"Master when we leave can you change me into a dog again?" Halin asked swooping down onto my bed.
" If that's what you want them of course buddy. But why a dog?" I asked my eyebrows pulling together.
" Well I enjoyed being one last time and you won't stand out."
" I wouldn't exactly stand out if I had a bird on my shoulder but your logic does have some sort of point." I chuckled shifting myself up against the backboard.
Looking around at my room I actually felt a bit sad that I won't see it hopefully ever again. This room is a symbol of my youth, all of my best memories happened here.
Making my first potion, completing my first major spell, killing my first snake for a ritual. All the major events in a warlock/witch's life.
But now this room holds memories I never thought happen. Exchanging letters with my hidden girlfriend who is my mate. And helping the only person I consider a friend find spells that will help us stay hidden when we run from our vastly approaching wedding.
The banging of shoes against wood snapped me from my thoughts.
Shit!
Jumping off my bed I scooped up the scattered papers where I scribbled the spells onto and shoved them into my bedside drawer.
Jumping back onto the bed I watched as the door handle jiggled them turned, and then open.
Wearing her usual black dress and her look of anger and possibly deep pain my mam walked in.
" What do you want?" I growled at her, my canine teeth briefly showing.
I know that sounds animalistic, but it's a very common thing for witches and warlocks to do when they are very pissed off at someone.
Surprise surprise I am still very pissed off at my mam.
" We have to go to the temple." She hissed leaning against my door frame her thin elbows pressing against the fabric of her dress.
" Why I have a day off?" I asked sitting up.
" We have a meeting with Lizzie, Veronica, and Naomi to discuss the wedding tomorrow."
" I thought you had all the plans finalized?"
" We do but we have to rope you and Naomi in on the plans so that you both know what to do when we arrive tomorrow," She explained," So get up and get dressed. We're leaving in fifteen minutes." She added before she left slamming the door behind her.
Yeah, I'm going to be doing my own kind of finalizing today, it's just not for the wedding.
