Banter (Lake Siblings)

"...strike! Block! Strike again!" Blinky instructs as Allexis and Jim were sparring with each other, the Trollhunter using his own sword while his older sister is using one she borrowed from ths weapons board. He was quite impressed that the older girl knew her way around a weapon, claiming she practiced from watching tutorials during her time at school. If the amulet had chosen her as a successor instead of her brother, she probably would have been a natural.

"Getting tired little brother?" Allexis asks tauntingly as she blocked another one of her brother's attacks.

"You look like someone dropped a bucket of sweat on you, and I'm hardly even feeling exhausted!" Jim retorts and grins.

"Funny, I could have sworn you wanted to take a nap earlier!"

Blinky laughs at the banter being thrown back and forth between the siblings. While most siblings he had seen over the years were close or hardly close, it warmed his heart to see a set that were like Jim and his sister. And it seemed like Jim was winning the battle, physically and verbally until Allexis suddenly kicks her brother's legs out from under him, knocking the teen to the floor where she pointed the tip of her sword at his neck and tapped his chest.

"Dead." She announced proudly before leaning down to help Jim up. Without warning, Jim immediately grabs her hand and yanks her down before twisting himself up, now being the one standing with his sword at his sister's throat.

"Dead." He says with a grin. Allexis laughs before she stands up and dusts herself off.

"Okay I have to get to work now, catch you all later." She says as she hands Jim her weapon. "Can't show up smelling like sweat and underground caves now, can I? And you, head home and study."

"Aw but I just was getting started with training!"

"You have an exam Monday, Uhl will literally bury you with a textbook if you fail that exam. Blinky, please make sure he at least studies the important human things he needs to study. Otherwise Gunmar is gonna be the least of my brother's worries when he brings home a poor grade to our mother."

"Eh, she is right. School is pretty important, but so is saving the world." Jim agrees as his sister is out of sight. "But she's so obsessed with me passing my classes, it's a bit annoying."

"How so?" Blinky asks as Jim's armor fades away. "Nothing wrong with studying to keep yourself afloat in your schooling."

"Since as long as I can remember she's always been doing nothing but studying, refusing to get anything lower than an A in all her classes,and in high school it got a bit worse." Jim explains. "There were even times she wasn't even sleeping that much because she was trying to cram everything into her head, even going as falling asleep in class a few times. Getting a scholarship to a big time college was something she badly wanted because she was hoping to get a job that payed enough to help my mom out, and in the end she got it. Now she's less... obsessed over studying, but she still gets on my case about school."

"Well as your older sister it's her job to look out for you, she's doing what she thinks is best and what your mother can't do a lot of the time." His mentor says and smiles fondly. "I kind of wish my own brother was like that, but I wasn't the type to slack when it came to my studies. Consider yourself lucky master Jim, you at least have someone in your life who pushes you to be better. Now, I suppose you should get to your human studies, we can use my library as a study room for today. Sound fun?"

A/N: it's been too long since I updated this, so I'm a bit fresh out of ideas

If anyone has any suggestions on one shot ideas just let me know,as long as they're age appropriate and within the guidelines of what sort of requests I take. And no I won't be doing Wizards related content YET until maybe a month after the series has aired to avoid spoilers
