Something wet hit the girl's face, causing her to stir.

Water dripped from the whole in the ceiling, landing on her face. She moved, the pain in her arm causing her to wake.

When she opened her eyes, she couldn't see. It was night.

"Shit. Will?" The girl looked to the man, who was still laying on the landing of the stairs, passed out.

She sat up, nudging him, "William? Come on, we need to go!" She whisper shouted.

She shook his body, a groan releasing from his lips, "Alena? What happened?" He spoke, as his eyes opened.

She sighed, thinking over how she would say it, "Well, you fell down the stairs, after being shot at, and hit your head, which then rendered you unconscious."

The man sat up, slowly, his hand going to the back of his head, he winced, the contact sending a wave of pain throughout his entire skull. When he pulled it away, his fingers were red.

"Shit, what about you? Were you awake the whole time?" He asked, looking to the woman's arm.

She shook her head, "No, the pain in my arm became unbearable, and the loss if blood meant I passed out to."

The pair rose to their feet, Schofield holding on the the stairs as support, helping him up. Alena helped him to stand, ensuring he didn't fall again.

They walked down the stairs, and out through the door they had previously entered.

The town was silent,. The ruins of buildings only being illuminated by the rising flares from German men.

The pair stood, watching the bright lights rise. They continued walking, side by side, her hand in his.

More flares rose into the night sky, illuminating the destroyed town.

They walked through the town, gun shots heard in the distance. As one of the flares rose about them, Schofield threw himself on the ground, taking Alena with him, hiding the pair from the light.

Once the light had past, they stood, the man wobbling slightly due to the wound on his head.

They walked on, keeping watch for any figures lurking in the shadows.

As they went, they noticed a building, which was on fire. They exited an alley way, leading out into the town centre. They watched, mesmerised by the flames.

A silhouette of a man could be seen emerging from beside the building, tge pair watched, wondering if he was friend or foe.

A gun shot rung out, hitting the ground just before theur feet, "Shit." The girl cursed, the German was getting closer, reloading his gun. and ready to take another shot.

"Scho, come on. We have to go!" The woman yelled, gaining the attention of her partner.

They ran, the German taking multiple shots at them, each one of them missing.
