I just got 200 reads and just wanted to thank everyone who is reading this right now.

We hadn't said much to each other yet. Just, "let's check again," or "are you sure this is the only place he could be?" And that was the only place he could have been.

The rest of the planet was far too cold at this time unless Dooku was staying in some sort of shelter where he could warm up, but our scanners would have caught something like that.

We set our course for hyperspace and I got out of my seat, and made my way to my room so I could deliver my report to the council.

The report consisted primarily of, we are headed back, no sign of Dooku or any sort of separatist, thing.

I turned off my holocom, and sighed. The sound of the door opening was followed by the feeling of Anakin hugging him from behind.

"Are you ok?" He whispered softly and comfortingly.

"I'm fine." I responded as his arms wrapped around under my own.

"Let down your shields then." He challenged.

"Anakin I'm fine." I repeated as he rested his head on my shoulder.

"Then let down your shields."

"Anakin, st-"

"So you're not fine." He finished interrogating me and told me his conclusion. "You do know it wasn't your fault that Dooku wasn't there."

"It's not that." I sighed. "I just don't feel like talking about it."

"Then don't talk." His voice was convincing and confident. "Just let down your shields, let me know how your feeling, let me share your pain."

"Anakin not now. Let's get back to Ahsoka."

"How about you come over tonight, we can have dinner together, maybe that will cheer you up."

"With you cooking, I'd rather eat dirt." I threw a line of sarcasm at him.

"Well than you can cook."

"Then why don't you just come over to my quarters?"

"Because when Ahsoka gets tired, I won't have to go home, so then we can go back to your quarters and I can, help you with your nightmares." I heard the smirk forming on his face.

"And what about Padmé?"

"What about her?"

"Anakin! She's your wife don't you think she'll want to see you?"

"I'll see her before dinner." He just shrugged off the question. "And then I can give her the same excuse you gave Ahsoka."

But the thing was, it wasn't an excuse. It was the truth, Anakin was the only one who could help with my nightmares and I had no idea why.

"Fine."

He retracted his arms and his head, I turned around.

"Let's get back to Ahsoka then." He said softly looking down on me.

He left, but not before leaning down to kiss my cheek, which made me blush.

We arrived out of hyperspace, the other half of the trip was more talkative and less awkward. The lights of the city were visible from where we were in space, even though it was daytime. If I closed my eyes, I could hear the noises that ran through the city day and night.

We landed and went back to our quarters. I wasn't excited for the next week or so, but I wasn't dreading it. It would just be the same thing, council meetings, meditating, walks, maybe even some meetings with senators. But routine wasn't bad for me, I'd have more free time. The biggest thing I needed to do with this free time was find answers. Why did I need Anakin? How can I stop my nightmares?

I wouldn't have nightmares if Anakin slept with me the entire time, but that just wouldn't work. We can't be together all the time, and he probably needed to see Padmé a few nights at least.

I hadn't realized how now I didn't think about her with guilt and jealousy, but more pity and respect. I had felt jealous of her relationship with Anakin, but now that I was able to admit that, it had gone away, and the guilt had turned into a mix of pity and respect. I mean, she had been married to a Jedi who she couldn't see all the time and who was risking his life constantly, and he also had a thing for me. But she also could stand Anakin and her relationship, his possessiveness and him being gone all the time.

It felt weird being back in my quarters, even after a mission that wasn't even 2 days. It felt strangely more normal and comfortable when I had been gone for long.

I decided to make some tea. I needed a break from everything.
