I woke up laying on Anakin's chest, I could feel the ghost of tears on my face, but I didn't remember crying. Anakin's hand was running through my hair as he saw me wake up.

"Your hair is really soft." He said softly.

"Mmh."

For a second I had forgotten what had happened last night. My emotions were mixed, I had no idea what I wanted. I wanted to stay in his warm tight embrace forever but I also wanted him to leave.

"Can we talk about, what happened, you know, last night?" He asked me, I now wanted to die. I just buried my face in his chest.

"I just, something felt weird about, what happened." He took a breath and added on, "I was just wondering if that might happen again."

I thought for a moment, "I don't know." I had no idea. No idea what I wanted, what was best, why I did what I did, I was just confused.

We stayed there for a while, maybe an hour or two, just laying in the warmth or each other and basking in the sun that was shining through my window. It was all so peaceful, yet it felt chaotic.

After a long time, I decided to get up, but I still wanted to go back into his warm arms. I sat on the edge of the bed as I started to put my tunic on.

"You should probably spend more nights with Padmé, she is your wife after all." The words hadn't processed in my brain before I said that. I needed Anakin, but it was selfish. He had a wife and she needed him more. I shouldn't be letting myself make this attachment, I needed to let him go. But I just wanted to stay with him forever, just tell him that he didn't need Padmé. And I hated that I had that thought.

"But Padmé is ok, it's you that needs me now." He protested while sitting up. It's as if he could read my thoughts, but only the bad ones.

"I need to find a way to get over my nightmares, you won't be around all the time for me."

"Bu-" He started to protest but I cut him off.

"Anakin, I'll be fine." I turned around and held his hand as I looked into his eyes. I wasn't sure I would be fine, but I had to assure Anakin that I would be. "I promise."

He nodded and I announced that I was going for a walk. I needed fresh air.
