When I stepped out of the car, suitcase behind me, I was not expecting to see this. A cobblestone exterior, draped and overgrown with ivy, it looked like a cottage.
It made me smile. Maybe being here wouldn't be so bad after all.
I headed up to the entrance, the wheels of my suitcase rattling on the stone path. I used the key that I had been given to unlock the door.
Hotch stood behind me, as he was the one who had given me the ride.
He stepped inside after me, looking around. "Nice place."
I nodded. "Hey, when is Emily getting here?" I set my keys down on the kitchen counter.
The front door then opened, Emily standing there. I walked over, greeting her. "Hey Em!"
She walked inside, smiling at both Hotch and I. She set down her suitcase. "So, how long will we be in here? I need a time frame or something."
Hotch looked down before walking over. "We still don't know. Depends on how fast we can take the unsub into custody."
Emily scoffed. "Good luck doing it without us."
Hotch looked back at me, and I tried to advert my eyes, as not to seem stuck-up. I knew it was true, I just didn't want to say anything.
"Well, I'll be going now. Call me if anything goes wrong." Hotch turned to leave. We both waved and resumed to our unpacking.
Hanging up my clothes in the closet, I looked over at Emily. "So, how long do you bet we're gonna be in here?"
She turned, folding her jeans. She was stationed at the left closet, one on each side of the bed. With a small laugh, she responded. "I'm not making bets on that."
"I mean, at least they got Reid." We both knew what it was like to not have Reid on the team, and how much we struggled.
"True," She added. "But I'm sure they misss ussss..." She said sarcastically.
I turned around and ran over to the king-sized bed. Flopping down on the mattress, I felt the soft comforter. "This is just like... a big ass sleepover."
Emily snorted, continued by the both of us laughing.
I sat up, and she came over to sit on the bed. "I'm already bored." Emily complained.
I pointed over to a plastic shopping bag. "I got stuff for dinner. Chicken Parmesan and spaghetti!"
"You sound like Rossi." Emily pointed out. I gave her a fake dirty look and stood up, walking over into the kitchen. She followed.
I took out a pot from under the counter, as Emily grabbed the box of pasta. Filling the pot with water, I set it on the stove before turning on the heat. I heard a rather odd sound. I turned around to see Emily standing there, the entire box of pasta spilled on the ground.
We both stood there for a moment before doubling over laughing. I pulled out another box, I had known we would screw up the first time. Emily cleaned up the floor as I began to boil the pasta.
Around forty-five minutes later, I was piling two pieces of chicken on the plate of spaghetti, as I did to Emily's.
We both sat down, exhausted from our mediocre cooking experience.

We were stuffed from dinner, and all we wanted to do was get into pajamas and relax.
I walked over to my closet and slipped into a t-shirt and running shorts. JJ was already in her clothes, underneath the covers and flipping through channels.
I was surprised that there was only one bed, but it was fine. We were just friends, right? Whatever...
I sprawled out on my stomach, purposefully annoying JJ. She pushed my legs off of her, laughing.
"Which movie?" She looked over at me.
"Oh uh... how about.. Clue? It's a classic." As JJ pulled up the movie on the TV, I found myself looking more at her than the film itself. I tried to make it discreet, but when she looked over, I immediately adverted my eyes.
I could see her smiling out of the corner of my eye.
I was starting to get cold, so I climbed under the blankets next to JJ. She leaned over and rested her head on my shoulder, which took me by surprise. But I didn't move. In a way, it was comforting. We slowly drifted off, the rest of the movie playing in the background.
