Stepping out of the black SUV, I looked around at my surroundings.

It was rather bare, the large building contrasting with the landscape of nothingness. I felt a small lump in my throat, thinking that JJ was in there, waiting for us. I hoped we didn't take too long.

As I grabbed my gun from my belt, Derek signaled us to come over to the door.

With a loud sound, we both kicked down the metal double doors leading into the warehouse. Unsurprisingly, they were flimsy and weak. I held up my gun, my finger on the trigger in case of any emergencies.

As we stepped in, we turned right and left, seeing if the area was clear. My hands were tense as I looked, getting worried at the sight of the empty room.

"Clear on the left!" We heard Derek shout.

"Clear on the right!" I added in.

There were two doors on either side of the main room, so we split up. I went to the left with Hotch as Derek and Reid went to the right.

I jiggled the door handle, seeing that it was locked. I braced for impact before driving my boot straight into the metal, the door swinging open.

Looking left and right with my gun ahead, the room was nothing but a few boxes. That meant JJ wasn't there.

As I heard a crash from behind me, Derek's voice startled me.

"FBI, get your hands in the air and step away from her."

Her. They found her.

I immediately turned, running to the next room. I heard small metal jingling as they released her from the restraints.

My hand clutched the door-frame as I pushed my way through. I saw JJ, slowly standing up.

Her face was bruised and her shirt was ripped at the bottom from the glass shard in the window.

My hand fell from its grasp, and my walk turned into a run as I came towards her. I closed my eyes as she returned to my arms, and I could feel her tears on my shoulder.

At that moment, it felt like time stopped. Everything around us faded until it felt like we were the only ones.

Like nothing else mattered except the fact that she was here right now. And I was so relieved that she finally was.

Derek had taken the man in cuffs, bringing him back to the car with the others. It was just us now.

We pulled away, and I looked at her. I had been waiting for this since the day I had met her. I leaned forward to her upturned face.

Our lips met, and it was like a whole world had been opened to me. It felt like I'd had my eyes closed my whole life and I finally opened them, seeing everything for the first time.

As we departed, she looked down, smiling.

"Glad to have you back, agent."

I had spent my days roaming around my apartment, trying to figure out how much time until I would be able to go back and work cases.

Even though I had literally been kidnapped, I still wanted to go back as soon as possible. I couldn't stand being without it.

But I couldn't get the kiss out of my head. I just kept replaying it, not even knowing if it was real.

I stood up, walking over to my mirror. The redness and swelling had gone down, but there was still a faint mark where the bruise had been. My hand touched my face, right over the mark.

I thought back to when I was in the warehouse. The man, I had never seen before. I wasn't sure how he even knew who I was. Garcia had told me that he was fired from the police, but why the sudden anger?

I tried to push the thought to the back of my mind. It was over now. I was safe.

I just kept telling myself that.
