Pacing back in forth among the clouds did not help calm your nerves this morning. The white feathers on your wings were raised by your anxiety. You were nervous about your fifth meeting with God regarding your rehabilitation program for Hell. You've argued with God about this idea, and They have always silenced you with a sharp no. You had a strong relationship with God, one that has stretched for 149 years. God never picked favorites, but your unwavering loyalty and hard work for the protection of humans and angels never went unnoticed. Your wings twitched against your silver armor and caused the metal to shiver. You cupped your chin with your hand as you delve deeper into your thoughts. Today is the day, I will convince God of my plans for a more recyclable use of sinners. Nothing will change if I don't try... this could be revolutionary!
You were trying to calm yourself before you met with God. You were worried that your persistence was putting a heavy strain on your relationship with Them. Worry of further displeasing God plagued your mind, but not making a difference in human souls- in Hell- warded away the doubts that smothered your determination. You were standing outside of Their palace grounds, waiting for the clock's handle to strike the time you had scheduled your junction. You continued to steady your breathing by slowly inhaling and exhaling. Finally regaining your composure, you smoothened out your broad wings and slicked back your short (h/c) with the sweat beading from your forehead. The clock finally ticked into position. Your wings responded to the sound and boomed against the wind. You launched yourself into the air and flew deeper into palace grounds towards God's throne.
God's throne room was composed of a small forest abundant with flowers and wildlife. You spotted them sitting within a flower patch gently stroking the soft furs of a deer. You slowly descended to where he was to avoid startling the deer. You were a master of stealth, silencing the flaps of your wings was a common specialty of appointed warriors.
"To whom do I owe the pleasure to?" God's eyes remained closed as their gentle voice leaked out from their lips.
You stepped closed towards God and took in the warming aura they radiated. God had curly platinum blond hair that reached down towards their shoulders. They wore a white robe that folded neatly against their peachy skin. You knelt before God's divine presence. "Hello Father, it's (y/n). I pray your divinity has not burdened you with strenuous tasks." God's eyelids lifted at the sound of your name. Their luminescent golden eyes shifted focus towards you while continuing to pet the deer laying at their side. "Do you have something to report my child?" It was always a surreal experience to talk with God. Their voice was as smooth as a calm river with vocals that resembled both a male and female. It was gentle... like the care given to a newborn baby. Your body relaxed into a trance as a result of conversing with God. "Yes Father, I bare good news regarding the realms. The annual Extermination in Hell was successful, enough souls were reaped to deal with its overpopulation. Heaven stands strong with souls of purity entering its domain."
"Good, good. And what of the mortal realm?"
"The humans still have a long way to go, but they are still learning. They continue to change and shape the world around them..." God hummed at your words, pleased that his most proud creations were still evolving. "...Which is exactly what should be continued in Hell!" God sighed at your words. They knew you wouldn't arrange a meeting with them unless it was another pitch of your rehabilitation plan.
"Rise. My dear daughter, this is NOT negotiable. The place below us exists for a reason. It is to capture the most tainted souls and punish them for the crimes they've committed."
You straightened your posture and picked yourself up. "But Father, I'm not suggesting we give them a free pass. I'm suggesting a program that accounts for their sins! There will be a strict criterion that must be met AND followed according to the severity of the sin." The deer raised its head in attempt to uncover why its fur was no longer being pet. God lifted themselves off the ground and looked directly into the determination flaring within your (e/c) eyes. "(Y/n), a sin cannot be undone." God said in a stern voice in hopes to get through that hard-headed nature of yours. "But it CAN be forgiven." You retorted, unflinching. "Father please I-"
"ENOUGH!" The deer that rested with Them trotted away in fear of their booming voice. "This is foolish (y/n)! It is clear to me now that your stance on this topic is unchanging. I'm sorry my daughter but you've left me with no choice." The sorrow that dripped from Their voice was soon replaced with anger. 'Oh no' was all you could think. "You are hereby stripped of your nobility and sentenced to banishment to the mortal realm. Your powers will remain to be bounded towards your duties of protecting them, but your access to heaven will be revoked."
Your breathing halted and your heart sank from the weight of his words. Your persistence had finally severed your ties with your dear Father. Yet for some reason, tears didn't spill from your eyes. You couldn't help but feel like you were born with a greater purpose, given that you were not a normal Angel born from God. As a personal project of Theirs, you were crafted with the same core substance humans were:
The ability to change.
And that's exactly what you were going to do. You looked at God one more time with a bittersweet smile and apologized for what you were about to do. Since he avoided revoking all your powers, you used your remaining strength to fly past the clouds and into the abyss below. You felt the light that empowered you be consumed by the darkness, causing your vision to steadily blur.
You were now falling headfirst.
Your ivory wings were dyed black from the ash of the fire that consumed them; from the sins that would mark your betrayal.
You threw back your head and laughed as your sleeping body descended further into Hell.
Authors Note:
I hope this was decent for my first go at a fanfic. This was a bit of your background to get you to a starting point you could continue from. I apologize if things seem slow, but I like to flesh out a good environment for the Reader to build off of. Chapter 1 will be where you first encounter Alastor, so please look forward to my next chapter! Thank you lads!
