Hank was surprisingly calm which was concerning since he had just seen the only person he's ever felt happy with kiss another man. It wasn't as if they were official or anything, but Hank thought Connor had gotten the hint. At first, Hank and Connor had a very strong passion for annoying each other. It was a father and annoying toddler type of relationship to say the least. Hank had first started catching feelings shortly after the whole Jericho situation was over. Hank was over the moon when Connor moved in with him.

*FLASHBACK*

It was summer of '39, almost a year after the invasion and Connor had just arrived to Hank's house. He was driving a shiny Ford Transit Connect down the empty neighbourhood driveway. Hank was looking at the clock and could barely stay in his seat. He couldn't wait any longer for Connor to finally arrive and he was about to pick up his phone and call Connor but a strange 'HONK' from outside his house interrupted him. He jumped out of the couch he was sitting on and rushed towards the door. He almost broke the damn thing as he was trying to open the door quickly, just so he could see Connor's face again.

Hank was greeted by a bunch of overfilled boxes full of stuff like books and clothes.

'Hey Hank!' said Connor from the other side of the neighbourhood.

'Hey Connor, want a hand?'

'Oh don't worry I only have a few boxes left'

''Alright I'll just move these boxes in then' said Hank and he started pushing some of the boxes in. 'SHIT' he shouted as he knocked one of the boxes over.

'Shit shit everything is a mess! Conno-' he started shouting for Connor but suddenly stopped when he noticed a strange looking book on the floor.

'Yea?' Connor replied. He was close to the door but not close enough to notice Hank shoving that book under one of the couches near him. A split second later Connor walked in with the last box and closed the door. 'What happe- Oh no my books!' Connor exclaimed.

'Sorry bud, i accidentally knocked it over... I'll give you a hand' Hank crouched over the box and with the help of Connor repacked all of Connor's books in their box. Their hands touched as they lifted the heavy box and Hank felt the butterflies in his stomach go absolute crazy and Connor's LED turned pink. Connor didn't notice but Hank sure did.

Their lives were running smoothly after Connor managed to completely move into Hank's house a week later. They went to work together, ate together and Hank was the happiest he had ever been. There was something more going on between them two and he honestly thought that Connor felt the same way. Apparently not.

 *END OF FLASHBACK*

Movie credits moved incredibly slow on the TV screen Markus, Connor and Hank were starring at. Markus and Connor had fell asleep on each other's arms and Hank was sitting at the other side of the couch, reminiscing of the good times; back when everything seemed alright.

Hank picked himself up and grabbed the pink and white fuzzy blanket Connor had bought for him for his birthday two years ago and tucks the two boys in. He bitterly turned around and turned the TV off.  As he was leaving the living room he suddenly remembered that book he hid from Connor a few years back. He turned back around, his feet making a strange noise on hardwood floor. He silently dropped to the floor and reached his arm under the couch. Hank felt a block, covered with endless amounts of dust and quickly pulled it close to him. With a long, steady breath he dusted the book off and went back on his feet. He stared at it as if it was a triumph and with a cheeky smile, he made his way to his bedroom.

He really thought that after all Connor and him had been through, he could have the chance to live a peaceful life with him; but he soon discovered that nothing good ever lasts.
