I woke up next to Ben on Saturday morning.

We hadn't done anything particularly bad because Olivia was in her room which was nxt to mine, and my mum was in the one opposite us, so we just messed around.

I held his hand tightly in mine and he chuckled slightly, kissing the top of my head softly.

"Morning." He whispered to me.

"Morning." I replied in a croaky voice.

"We'd better get up." He said, a little louder now.

"Yeah." I laughed quietly.

We got out of my bed and put our clothes on quickly before going downstairs to be met by my mum and Olivia sitting at the breakfast table. They both had a bowl of cornflakes each and Olivia was shovelling hers down her throat, but my mum just left hers.

"Morning." She smiled at the two of us. I blushed furiously.

"Um, morning mum. I didn't know you two were up... yet." I laughed quietly. Ben smiled at my mum but was pretty siulent the entire time.

She smiled at me softly.

"Are you two going anywhere?" She asked us.

I could feel the air slowly leaving my lungs. I wanted to be sick. She looked so right, just sitting there in her pajamas, eating breakfast with Olivia. I wished we were a normal family more than anything.

"No." I said, taking Ben's hand and leading him over to the fridge to get the milk out.

"Okay, well I'll go up to bed if that's okay?" She said. Just like that, everything fell apart again.

"Sure. See you later mum." I said.

"Bye mummy!" Olivia hugged her. I shut the fridge and tried to ignore everything and focus on the pores on Ben's face instead.

The lines under his eyes when he smiled.

The softness of his light blue eyes.

The messiness of his hair.

He squeezed my hand and offered me a reassuring smile. I nodded my head and walked over to the cereal cupboard.

"Can you go and keep Olivia for a couple of minutes while I make breakfast?" I asked him under my breath as I leaned my head on his chest. He nodded his head. "Thank you." I whispered, leaning up to kiss his smooth cheek gently.

He sat down next to Olivia and started talking to her about Barbie.

Olivia engaged in the simple polite conversation.

I was fine.

I was fine.
