The doorbell rang, pulling me out of my dreamless state of rather unrelaxing sleep.

I pulled my head up from where it was resting on the table and looked at Matty who was also lying with his head opposite where mine was.

"Matty!" I whispered, shaking him awake. He groaned and looked up at me, rubbing his eyes. He clasped onto his head and winced slightly, squinting to stop the sunlight getting into his eyes.

"What?" he grunted, pushing his hair back out of his face.

"They're here."

He sat up straight away and looked at me with wide eyes.

"What do I do?" he asked. The doorbell rang again. I sighed and dragged my hands through my hair.

"Okay, come with me." I said, grabbing his arm and pulling him towards the door. I opened the door of our coat cupboard that was right next to the door and pointed at it.

"Wait in there. I'll let you out in a bit when Olivia is inside." I whispered. He nodded his head and clambered inside the cramped space that wasn't even big enough for Olivia - we had found that out during a rather competitive match of Hide and Seek during the hot summer - but somehow, Matty managed it.

I jumped forward and opened the door, just as he closed the one to the cupboard.

"Julie!" Olivia giggled, jumping up onto the doorstep and hugging my legs tightly. I brushed my hands through her untameable hair.

"Olivia! Did you have fun?" I asked her, she looked up at me and nodded her head.

"Yes, we had pizza and ice cream and we watched Frozen and played Twister, it was great!" she was grinning. I smiled at her, wondering what it felt like to be that overjoyed by such simple things.

"Was she well behaved?" I asked Maria after Olivia retreated tiredly to the living room.

Maria laughed. "Yes, she was lovely. It was so nice to see them both playing together. They didn't sleep well though, they dropped off at about eleven o'clock, sorry about that." she said.

"It's fine! She'll just have a little nap later and she should be grand." I said, Maria grinned at me.

"I suppose I'd better be getting back home." she said.

"I would invite you in for some tea, but I don't think there's any left."

Maria and I spent an extra five minutes chatting, then she finally left.

"Julie..." Olivia said quietly. I turned around and saw her standing right in front of the coat cupboard, holding the door open and staring up at Matty. "What's that man doing in the cupboard?"

Matty sighed and dragged his hands through his hair.

"Um, Matty was just looking for his coat." I said.

"Yeah..." he replied.

"But you don't keep your coats in there," Olivia frowned at him, then she started giggling and looked between me and him. "Are you in love with Julie?" she asked him. Words couldn't explain how confused Matty looked.

I seized the moment.

"Yes, he is. But I'm not in love with him, and that's why he's going to leave right now." I reached into my pocket and grabbed his car keys and threw them to him.

Matty caught them and nodded his head.

"Yeah, I'm just leaving-"

"Do you like Frozen?" she asked him.

Matty chuckled slightly.

"Yeah, do you?" he asked.

"I love it! Ana and Olaf are my favourites. Who do you like?"

"Oh, I like the reindeer."

"Sven!"

"Yeah, Sven!"

"Bye Manny!" she hugged his legs before running away, Matty laughed quietly and clambered out of the cupboard.

"I'll see you around." he grinned at me.

"Bye Manny." I smirked at him.

He walked out of the house and wandered slowly in the direction of his car.
