Izuku thought at this point he might go insane, if he isn't already one.
He finally figured out what to take to the entrance exam.
And it is a fucking fidget spinner.
To say that he managed to make it a device, where each side has a function – a Taser, a retractable dagger and a plier, all secured with clicking caps in a single fidget spinner where the bearing also serves as a button for the all three functions, he is ecstatic that it worked on his favor.
It worked on his favor, but at what cost? Well, more scorch marks for his table in his room and some cuts, enough for a scolding from his mother. Yeah, definitely worth it, if we are being sarcastic.
Honestly at first, the only reason he took interest on a fidget spinner is to somehow ease his anxiety, which sometimes did. But since you know, Izuku was bored, why not make it a weapon? When he made it, he thought the basic function of the fidget spinner was a goner, but luckily he managed to fix it. So now we have a deadly fidget spinner, nice.
He basically brings it with him every time he goes out, because why not? It's works for self-defense. Also for his anxiety.
Though he will never imagine to use his innovation for the first time is saving someone.

Izuku was just on his way home doing an errand for his mother. After having a grocery shopping, he hopes to be home before the sun sets, as he still hadn't finished his worksheets from his online classes.
As he was passing by an alleyway, just a street further down their home, he heard something crash, like something was being thrown to a metal.
Izuku, being curious and since he had an inkling feeling that something happening is bad, decided to take a look in the alley.
There he saw something that makes him mad. And he felt rage creeping up inside him.
A tall man, with brown hair is beating up a kid, who looks like no more than his age and had purple hair. The kid looks very injured, and by the looks on what he is seeing, it looks like the muzzle on his mouth was forcefully attached to him, considering that it seems slanted from the kid's face to be relieving.
The kid was slumped against a dumpster, taking all the damage the man was giving him, but oh boy he was bleeding. Wasting no time, Izuku put down his groceries in the wall where he is standing and pulled out his beloved fidget spinner.
The man, hearing that someone is running towards in his direction, stopped beating the kid and saw him. He tried to punch Izuku in the face when he was running but unfortunately for him the green haired teen managed to kick him in the face. The man fell down quite painfully, Izuku was sure he heard something crack in the man's body. The man looked at him with rage written off in his expressions, and decided to stand up and try to punch Izuku again.
He hit Izuku successfully, but he didn't know that what he hit is the fidget spinner in his hand, the tazer cap opened. Once Izuku felt the contact of the man to him, he immediately pressed the button, discharging electricity from the tazer.
The man screeched in pain and surprise, and Izuku took that to his advantage and hit the man in his neck, accurately punching a pressure point to render him unconscious.
The man fell down again with a glorious thump, and once he knew the man is not going to go up, and checked if he banged his head on the ground enough to give him concussion, which luckily didn't, he sighed in relief. He turned around and saw the kid, who looks like staring at him with awe and wonder.
