Chapter 7: the broken boy

I'm awoken by someone's voice, "Lexi wake up c'mon breakfast." It's grey.

"Morning grey. Yeah I'll be down in a sec" I look down to see Austin is still sleeping on me but everyone else is gone. "I'll just wake him and we'll be down" I smiled at him and he left the room and closed the door.

I put my hand on austins head and began to stroke his hair, "Austin" I whisper, no response. "Auti" still no response. I massage his scalp and move my thumbs over his eye lids hoping this'll wake him up.

His eyes flutter open, "morning Auti"

He smiles, "morning lexa"

"They've got breakfast down stairs but I wanted to talk to you first" he sits up next to me with his back against the headboard.

"Okay" he urges me to continue.

"Okay so before I start I just wanna make it clear that you do not have to tell me anything, nor will I ever push you to tell me anything. Okay now, you woke me up early this morning by screaming in your sleep, do you remember that?" I ask

"Yeah" he looks down at his lap

"Did that have anything to do with you're panic attacks and what happened with Bella?" I ask hesitantly.

He just nodded.

"Okay. One more thing, I notice that whenever we sleep you hold onto my waist or my hand tight, like your almost afraid I slip away while you're asleep."

He nodded again

"You've also asked me quite a few times not to leave you."

He nods again

"What is that about?"

He looks up at me and sighs before his gaze falls back on his lap.

"It was, my dad. After what happened during my child hood- the thing that gave me panic attacks, I told my parents and he felt so bad. He thought it was his fault so he thought it was best if he left. He left me without even telling me in person, he left a note on the counter explaining it. I feel like it was my fault because if I hadn't told, he wouldn't have left me, left us. So I guess I have an abandonment problem"

My heart breaks a little more for this broken boy in front of me.

I lift his head up and look into his eyes "I don't know how I know, but I just do. I know that whatever happened was not your fault. Dont even think that for a second. I also know that your dad is an A class dick for leaving you and your mom behind. Anyone would be lucky to be your dad." He gave me a sad smile.

"Now do we have to bust out the ice cream and one direction songs again?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

He chuckles then Says "no"

"Alright then let's go downstairs" I get up and drag him out.

"Oh by the way, I'm pretty sure we're best friends now." I smile at him wich makes his grin grow even bigger.

They guys made an exceptional breakfast and all left not too long after.

I can tell that I'm going to be stuck with these boys for the rest of my life. They're like family already, yes, even ryker. That annoying twat.

Ughhh Mondays.... gods worst creation. I had to cram last night for a couple tests I had today so I got almost no sleep. I fell asleep in almost every class this morning, but now it's lunch so hopefully I can gets some food in me and I'll be more alive.

I walk in and decide to sit with Macy and Jason today.
