“Wake up.” A soothing voice called.

Oreana’s eyes sprang to life. The translucent canopy above her bed was the first thing she would always see. It was a pleasantry she never had back home. Her bed was like sleeping on clouds. And there wasn’t a single uncomfortable position when she slept. She sat up looking around but there was nobody around. She was dressed in a white night gown, but she didn’t remember putting it on last night. The last thing she remembered was Chishiro leaving. Oreana still the mirror and could look and watch Rylan. He looked so sad; it brought tears to her eyes. She thought he was going to die by Karatsu, but Chishiro saved him. There must be some good in him to do that. But then he hit Rylan. She couldn’t explain that but it didn’t matter.

There was a knock on the door then a friendly. “Can I come in?”

She sighed as she realized a new day had begun. “Yes.”

Chishiro opened the door but waited by the doorway. He wasn’t draped in his usual dark robes. But instead he wore a black tunic with a greenish tint. The collar’s threads were loosened revealing the center of his chest. Oreana couldn’t help but look at his muscles. She glanced a way trying to not draw attention.

Chishiro noticed then just smiled, “Today you train.”

 “Wait, what?”

“You heard me. You’re going to train.”

“Train for what. I can’t fight.”

His mischievous grin grew wider. “No. Of course not. I don’t expect you to fight. Your…well, training isn’t the best word for this, more like experiencing. Yes that’s it. You will be experiencing Ethereal’s gravity. “

Experiencing gravity? Oreana had never thought of something like that. Would her organs swell and explode out of her body? Would she be crushed immediately? Would she bleed uncontrollably? Would her eyes pop out of her? She didn’t know. She was afraid but for some odd reason she trusted Chishiro. And she didn’t like that.

“Hey don’t worry. It’s not that bad. Well, it is hard but just a little bit at a time throughout the day and then more through the weeks. Your body will acclimate. I’ll leave you to get dress then. There are newly made dresses in the wardrobe over there.” Chishiro pointed to a wooden wardrobe by the window. She had never noticed it before. When did they put that there?

Chishiro continued. “I’m sure you will like them. I had them fitted just for you.” He sniffed randomly. “Corrine will be waiting outside for you.” He left closing the door behind him.

Alone, except since Oreana had been here she never felt really alone. Always as if someone was watching her. She could have been paranoid but she had every right to be. She got up from bed hesitantly. She was still shocked to see the wardrobe in this room. Did they put it in when she was sleeping and if so how could they do it without making a noise? This place was strange, the people in this world were strange but that must have explained why Oreana was drawn to Rylan in the first place. He was so different from the other boys she knew.
